Ceremony Held for Return of the Remains of A Korean War Soldier

» by in: Korean War

For those that don’t know the Korean government does do a very good job in regards to the recovery of Korean War remains and should be commended for doing so and here is yet another example of this:

The Ministry of National Defense and the United Nations Command have held a ceremony to send off the excavated remains of a U.N. soldier killed during the Korean War.

The remains were found in April in Yeongdeok, North Gyeongsang Province by the ministry’s excavation team. After a two-month investigation, the remains were identified as belonging to a foreigner.

The remains will be sent to the Joint Prisoners of War and Missing in Action Accounting Command in Hawaii for additional testing into the identity of the soldier.

At the sending-off ceremony on Wednesday, Defense Minister Lee Sang-hee noted that there were 130-thousand Korean soldiers and 58-thousand U.N. soldiers who went missing in action during the Korean War.

He said the government and the South Korean people have a duty to find their remains and return them to their families.  [KBS Global]

The remains of the UN soldier recovered could have been from this action during the war.

This is a laugh! We have waited 61 years for the return of our loved one from Korea! It is a political move if they give back remains of a soldier. They have no compassion for the families who lost soldiers! DO not post a lie and not expect a rebuttal! The ONLY reason they give is to get! Better “DEAD than RED!” Nothing has changed in 60 plus years they are just getting hungry!
