It was a pretty busy month for both the USFK and Korean legal system. What was interesting this month was that there was a number of cases where the defendants were found not guilty. It isn’t often you see so many not guilty verdicts like this in one month.

It’s amazing how every single case is by an Army soldier. Are there any AF Airmen left in Korea?

When it comes to crimes, it’s easy to put Marines and Army in the same category. Still, no Air Force on this list. It’s 40 or 50 Army/Marine crimes to every Air Force. Probably more.

If you have every sat through a USFK J1 briefing you would realize there are very very few Air Force personnel assigned directly to USFK in comparsion to the Army personnel. Again, focusing directly on Air Force personnel there exists a high proportion of officer to enlisted. Even on this list there is only one officer listed. Considering the demographic issues, I would need a little more analysis to determine if the Army and Marines are causing a large number of crimes. I seem to recall a number of AF security personnel crimes over the past couple of years.

These are the numbers I found. Wow, for just a few Marines on peninsula they certainly make a name for themselves.

* Navy: 274
* Air Force: 8,815
* Marines: 242
* Mandated of Strength: 28,500
