For those following the Korean political scene, former Korean President Kim Dae-jung, the man behind the now failed Sunshine Policy is now in the hospital with health problems:
Former President Kim Dae-jung has been put on a respirator at a Seoul hospital after showing symptoms of pneumonia.
Yonsei Severance Hospital said during a news conference Thursday that the former president had breathing difficulties Wednesday night and was put on a respirator at around two a.m.
The hospital says the 84-year-old former president’s condition has since improved, with his pulse, breathing and body temperature returning to normal.
The former president was given sedatives after being put on a respirator and is currently hooked up to a feeding tube.
Meanwhile, Representative Park Ji-won of the Democratic Party, the former president’s chief of staff, denied reports that the former president was in critical condition.
He has been receiving treatment for pneumonia at the intensive care unit of the hospital since early this week. Kim retired in 2003 after serving a five-year term. [KBS Global]
No matter what you may think of the guy politically, let’s all hope Kim Dae-jung is able to make a speedy recovery.

Two former presidents in a couple months. Hmmm…
I really liked the coffee cups (with the year on them) this guy used to send to all the US troops in Korea. I have quite a collection. I suspect it stopped under the last guy but I'm not sure. Anyone know?

I has forgotten about the cups. I received one in 1994.
