Yesterday, the 18th, the finals for the 2009 Miss Hawaiian Tropic Korea contest were held at "The Ocean" resort in Yeosu. Preliminary contests were held in a few clubs in Seoul in June and July. The winner was Lee Ji-yun.
Brian in Jeollanam-do has more information and pictures from the contest.
Too bad she wasn’t at the Boryeong Mud Festival.

It’s funny how the contestants in these smaller competitions are way hotter than Miss Korea (which is full of nasties).

The chick in the yellow looks alright until you see the padding coming out of her bikini top. Those other chicks are kinda funky. I’m sure they are really nice girls though. I meant to say, “They all look great.”

Worth pointing out that the woman in the picture wasn’t the winner. She came in 3rd.
The Miss Korea contest clearly doesn’t judge on looks. Those women are certainly talented and educated—or at least rich—but are almost always plain. The ones at this Yeosu one . . . well, yeah, pretty plain too.
Just go down to the big bus terminal in Gwangju, and in about three minutes you’ll find 50 really hot women. The ones in the contests are barely hot enough to be backup dancers at trot concerts.
