“We’ve been developing the launch vehicle since 2002. We really worked at it for a long time, but success or failure is determined within 10 minutes at most. I may also feel a kind of empty feeling after the launch. They said that in other countries, they even cry. It’s probably that they‘re so moved rather than a feeling of emptiness. Right now, I’m not thinking anything, frankly. The only thing in my head right now is the word ‘success.’”
These were the feelings described by Dr. Park Jung-joo, head of the launch system project team at the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, which is overseeing the launch of the Korea Space Launch Vehicle-1 (KSLV-1, aka “Naro”). [Hankyoreh]
