I'm curious about the mood toward Kim right now. I wish I were already teaching Korean adults. His popularity slipped a good bit at the end of his time in office for a variety of reasons, but I wonder if in death, the bulk of Korean society is going to look back at his long career and feel pretty good about him? or just indifferent? or still slightly negative?

Why are the pallbearers wearing "masks"? Custom, or protocol of some sort?

I was just asking my wife the same thing, which is the intent of my post also. I'm sure there's an interesting history behind it.

    Anyone?
