It took a while but South Korean actress Lee Young-ae who’s most famous role was in the TV drama Dae Jang Guem has finally gotten married at age 38:
Top actress Lee Young-ae secretly tied the knot with a Korean-American businessman in the U.S. on Monday, her lawyers announced Tuesday. The wedding was attended only by family and close friends, and was held in the U.S. because the bridegroom’s family lives there.
The bridegroom is a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology and works in the IT industry in the U.S. Lee declined to disclose his personal profile or their wedding photos for privacy reasons, said Dongin Law Group.
Lee plans to settle in the U.S. but will continue acting in Korea. She debuted as a TV model in 1991 and gained wide fame in Asia with the success of the drama “A Jewel in the Palace.” She also starred in the films “One Fine Spring Day” and “Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.” [Chosun Ilbo]
For those who have watched Joint Security Area know that Lee Young-ae does speak good English and she has long been rumored to be dating a Korean-American so it isn’t too surprising she decided to get married in the US away from the Korean media spotlight.
Something I have heard from many Koreans is that Lee Young-ae is one of the few Korean actresses that hasn’t had any plastic surgery done on her face. Has anyone else heard this as well?

I am an enormous fan of Lee Young-ae. I've seen all her movies except for Inshallah, I've watched Dae Jang Geum three times and have it on DVD, and so on.
But, I never heard the rumor about her dating a Korean-American, or anyone. I always wondered why she isn't married yet, and why I never hear anything about her love life. I know Young-ae is a very private person, but I'm suprised that she dated someone for ten years and kept it a secret. That's impressive.
If she has ever had plastic surgery, there sure is no evidence or indication of it anywhere. It would also be very out of character for her.
Young-ae is over a decade my senior but I still envy her new husband. Women like her are one in a hundred million.

Lee Young-ae is one of a few Korean actresses whose childhood pictures show a younger version of the same beautiful face. Other natural-born beauties include Kim Hee-sun, Song Hye-gyo, and Kim Tae-hee. Lee Hyo-ri is mostly natural but may have gotten her nose tweaked like so many Hollywood celebs, including Halle Berry, Scarlett Johannson, and Angelina Jolie. Kim Hye-soo was a natural beauty until she underwent an extreme make-over to revive her career. Young stars accused of undergoing plastic surgery sometimes trot out high school photos, but these prove nothing since girls as young as middle school begin having procedures if the parents can afford it.

You're of course entitled to think that she isn't pretty, but not many would agree with you. Plastic surgery would ruin her, and she'd never go through with it anyway.
I forgot to mention that she has been taking English classes. I don't know/can't remember for how long, but it was shown in a recent documentary about her.

I think Lee Young-Ae maybe the only korean female celebrity that did not do plastic surgeries. My sister looks like her, but I think my sister is pretier. She is 54, but looks like late 20's. Kim Tae hee did upper and lower eyelids. She removed lower eyelid bags. For her upper eyelids she removed fat and skin and she either did fat transfer or forehead implant. song Hye kyo also did her eyelids to remove fat and skin and make her eyes wider, she also did her nose bridge and she did cheek augmentation that is so easily to see from when she first dabuted. That is the same for Kim tae Hee. Kim hee sun also eye area plastic surgeries. It clearly shows that her eye area is different than in her school pictures. Lee Hyori did her nose and her eyeids too. Her face slimmed down, so she may had cheek bone and jaw bone shavings. I think Lee young-ae is the only natural korean celebritie that never did even any plastic surgeries.
