Hey! Is the guy on the far left Asian???
4:16 pm on September 22nd, 2009 2
The only thing I've seen even hinting about racism from Obama protesters are from the protesters themselves that are preemptively trying to debunk their own racism.
Kind of like the person in Sociology 101 that preempts all his racists comments with, "I'm not a racist BUT…"
I wouldn't be surprised if individual lefty talking heads were calling racism, but can't say I've seen an organized effort of any kind.
Anyhow, I could be totally wrong as I've been deliberately trying to avoid any news about the protests and tea bagging and whatever else is going on over there. If I'm wrong, please correct me. And I'm genuinely serious, I'm not trying to be snide or whatever.
All that being said, I DO think that racism probably is behind SOME of the protesters' individual motivations (much in the same way the mad cow protests in Korea were built on a foundation of anti-americanism and pulled in a lot of people that didn't consider themselves anti-American at all) and they probably don't even realize it themselves, but it actually doesn't even matter if we can just keep the debate about the issues and stay on point.
So even if they are racist, as a lefty myself, I don't see how it's relevant to the debate. In fact, blind political factionalism and fear-mongering is definitely a much more important influence on getting people out in the streets than racism could ever hope to be.

Is that senator Byrd in the front row?
7:25 pm on September 22nd, 2009 4
You know they are a democrat when they start talking about "tea bagging." Only a democrat would think of tea bagging as a form of protest.
10:51 pm on September 22nd, 2009 5
Do you know what "teabagging" is?
Look it up and stop sounding so ignorent.
You might even want to try it
11:25 pm on September 22nd, 2009 6
Yes I know what tea bagging is. Its what two male democrats do in their bedroom or what a retired GI does in the back alley with a 10 year old boy.
I don't think I will enjoy the gay lifesyle. But enjoy yours until the afterlife. GOD sees what you are doing now, and he has plans for you.
1:38 am on September 23rd, 2009 7
The gay lifestyle? Sexual orientation is just not that simple. If it really was just a lifestyle, don't you think that homosexuality would be much more common in societies that are more tolerant of it? Fact is, the frequency of homosexuality is pretty much stable all around the world. So, no huge spikes in the number of homosexuals when and where Madonna stops on her world tour.
In any case, someone has apparently found the genetic link to homosexuality.

Yes teabagger, I am not interested in reading your propaganda. If you want to "enjoy" the gay livestyle, go for it. Like I said. GOD has a plan for you.
Keep teabagging and see what happends.
You will be be back begging for forgivnes. Democrats always do things like tea bag, and the demand that normal people accept their evil.

LORDOFF2, you are making a case against yourself. Taps foot in stall…
9:35 am on September 23rd, 2009 10
I'm very much attracted to women, especially my wife. It's not a matter of choice, it's biological. That's more than enough for me to understand that homosexuality is not a lifestyle choice.
Science and logic is propaganda? Keep on living in that cave of yours, but be sure not to stare at the light…it might blind you.
12:54 pm on September 23rd, 2009 11
I think it's naive to suggest that some of what's going on isn't motivated by deeply-seeded racism. However, I think the overwhelming majority of those protesting these days are just plain misinformed. Sure, a few off them can spout off a list of Fox talking points (which doesn't help their case either), but when it comes down to it, they have nothing but displaced anger and hatred.
Like the anti-war protests, this "9/12 Project" has no message and no unified front, so they come off as uninformed, hateful white-trash carrying signs that they don't understand.

you are racist
if you are a cop and arrest a black person (biligerant and stupid one) you are a racist
simply put if you are white at the end of the day you will always be racist

Thanks for posting the video Expat.
I'm very torn by the things that I'm seeing happening in the US right now. On the one hand, I'm happy to see people getting passionate about something other than Big Macs and NFL, but on the other, I am very, very, concerned to be seeing those passions being manipulated and directed so blatantly.
It seems to me that there is a concerted effort going on to actually INCITE ignorance and fear.
To say nothing about what is getting passed off as informed political discourse these days…
1:44 pm on September 23rd, 2009 14
My reply was to steve. Lordoff2, I'm surprized you could not see this.
I might have to rethink the liberal point of view expressed by steve. I'm sure he knew who the reply was for.
As I am a registered republican, and have been since Carter, thanks to steve and your responce to my reply to him, I now see that my center/right side has it's shair of whack jobs also.
I don't expect you to follow my history, so I'll just say the 20yo philippina from voodoo club last night would likly be offended at you thinking her a 10yo boy.
So try—try to follow when someone has replyed TO you or WITH you. If you can not tell the differience, perhaps you should not engage yourself with others who can.
Your referance to God is insulting. I do not believe you have been granted the powers of the Almighty to pass Judgement on others. Many so called Christians do seem to think they have such powers. From now on I will think of the Salem Witch Trials when I see you post. I'm sure you would have fit right in.
You and those like you are the reason the Left thinks the Right is Nuts. I'm not telling you not to express yourself. I would never do that. Besides, I was raised in the Southern Baptist Church and enjoy exposing the cult side of religion.
I would have responded sooned, but I had a young woman to service. I'm a very giving kind of person

good speech steve. Do you have any facts that we can discuss.
How do you feel about the increased debt under our New President.
How do you feel about Government Motors.
How do you feel about those Red Socks?
How do you feel about our President bowing to the Saudi King. He lost me with that act alone. It was very revealing about the man.
How do you feel about the IA's getting free med care that you are paying for.
How do you feel about the WH telling Humana Health Care not to inform their customers about the lose of some services if Obama care is passed.
Oh and by the by — I'm white so I must be a racist, correct?
Our president being a black man means one thing to me. No blacks can ever say that the "white man be keepin me down and sheit". Now I can always — for the rest of my life — smile and say "Obama made it, so it really must be you."
I'm very happy My president is black! It works for me. I still don't like his increasing the debt, bowing to another Leader, taking over GM, playing on class warfare. Talkin to the DPRK. Those are just the points of greatest interest for me. Bush let me down also. No president pleases all Americans.
Care to talk with this uninformed conservative?
We are not all like Lordoff2. But you must look up what "teabagging" is.
It is difficult to take someone serious when they don't know the differience between bedroom action and outdoor get togethers.
Or is it something about mens balls that liberals just can not get out of their heads? I am uninformed in this area. Please enlighten me to this aspect of the liberla mind.
2:24 pm on September 23rd, 2009 17
Except for the fact that the goverment isn't forcing anyone to participate and Obama has nothing to do with what that ONE teacher did.
2:28 pm on September 23rd, 2009 18
I'm sure the guy putting the video together intentionally went to look for the most dumbest misguided people to support the left's attempt to paint people who disagree with President Obama as racists. The left always complained that the conservative media would always only focus on the anarchists and other loons at anti-war protests even though most people protesting had nothing to do with those groups and this is the same thing. I saw very little value in the video.
What I don't like about the tea party protests is where were these people when Bush was running up huge deficits and expanding the power of the government? Obama is just expanding the big government role that the Presidents before him started.
2:31 pm on September 23rd, 2009 19
Again, if you can't admit that some elements of the teabagging movement aren't fueled by racism, intolerance and downright idiocy then there's no reason to continue trying to convince you.
2:31 pm on September 23rd, 2009 20
The most ironic part of the cartoon is the guy holding a picture of a chimp. Do a Google Search of Bush Chimp and Obama Chimp and see who gets more Google hits.
2:32 pm on September 23rd, 2009 21
That guy on the far left looks like some of the ajushis I have seen hanging out in front of Jongmyo!
2:34 pm on September 23rd, 2009 22
Come on, GI! You gotta Obama more time (as should the rest of the nuts who handed this country over to Obama in the condition it was!) Bush has an eight year headstart.
2:37 pm on September 23rd, 2009 23
"Displaced anger." Sounds like Liberal talking points.
Must be nice to point to everything that you don't agree with and place it under the heading of "displaced anger". Sounds like Lordoff2 screaming that God has something for you in the end.
But if you have no defence for opposing views, you really must use the "displaced anger" header or admit your wrong.
2:41 pm on September 23rd, 2009 24
Of course they were trying to paint a picture. That's what the opposition does. What do you think Fox has been doing for the past 8 months? -garbage to incite the masses.
Have you actually watched or listened to their "news sources" recently? I'm quite certain that they're just repeating what they heard which is what most people do, but this has certainly reached a new level of bafoonary.
The value in the video comes from the faux-sense of urgency. This is manufactured, mindless dribble at its best and it's honestly pretty embarassing.
2:48 pm on September 23rd, 2009 25
Are you kidding me??? What are they angry about? Bush years. These guys should have stood up (as we did) when Bush was creating this mess. This was brewing for years, but these nuts were too busy blindly waving their flags to realize that the rug was being pulled out from under them. Someone had to clean it up and that honor was given to Obama.
Displaced? Yes! Don't feed me the government spending and debt garbage when you know very well it was the right who got us here.
2:51 pm on September 23rd, 2009 26
Honestly, I had that exact same thought! What a stupid, contrived cartoon. I didn't agree with the Bush/Chimp picture when it was going around either. That kind of thing just lowers the discussion. As much as I was against Bush, I never subscribed to the whole line of thought that he was a simpleton.
Who made the cartoon anyway? Was it someone in Korea or state-side? Is it a liberal Korean's interpretation of what's going on?
The image I've seen more over the past two days of catching up on this is the Alfred E. Newman/Obama picture. I think the whole race aspect of all this is overplayed. Like I said, I do think that racism, for some of the people, probably plays a part. But I also think it DOESN'T MATTER and we should keep the debate on the issues.
2:51 pm on September 23rd, 2009 27
So Barry DID lie about the "hope and change" thing. He is just (Bush 3rd term). Thats what I thought all along.
I fell out with Bush around 2007. But then again, was it the falt of the two term president, or did a left leaning house and senate have something to do with my displeasure.
How will our President funtion if he loses the house and senate? Lame duck half way through is not good. Maby it will not happen.
3:02 pm on September 23rd, 2009 28
I know full well what teabagging is. I used it initially in jest, as the only thing I had seen about tea party coverage was Fox News' own reporters going on and on about 'teabagging' themselves probably not realizing at the time what it meant.
I'm not happy with the massive debts Obama's running up, just like I'm not happy about the massive debts Bush ran up either. But everything I'm seeing about the medical care system, especially comparing how much more cost efficient gov't run medical care is compared to private insurance, seems to point to this thing not really costing all that much.
But that's not even my point. My point is I very much WANT to discuss these issues. I want to talk about the FACTS. I'm sick of all the rhetoric and name calling. As it stands now I'm not even sure of a lot of the basic facts myself because there's so much mud being thrown around.
There's just no need for all of this attitude, tone, and yelling and screaming. I don't understand how all this vitriol came about just because our President is proposing a plan to save lives.
I'm willing to listen to alternative medical care plans, but I basically believe that ANYTHING is better than what we have now.
3:08 pm on September 23rd, 2009 29
You know, I never once mentioned race in the comment that you were replying to here. Just thought I'd point that out.
3:21 pm on September 23rd, 2009 30
Ok, Lets say you schooled me up. Our President is doing "what exactly" to fix this. Spending much More than bush? That's the fix?
A question: What is wrong with flag waving?
As my handle would suggest, I served that under that flag. I'll repeat the question: what is wrong with flag waving?
The Bush years? Do you mean those years after this country was attacked? Or do you have a memory of only the last two years with a left leaning House and senate?
If that is all you are able to remember then I understand your anger and pity you for your lack of memory. What did you have for breakfast?
I'm sure it would be pointless on my part to ask how you feel about Barney Frank. He hasn't been in the news lately, so i'm sure you have forgotten him.
The right got us here? Don't think so.
But I'm sure of this: It will be the left that keeps us here. Our President promised "hope and change". All he seems to be doing is expanding on bush and spending more.
So you can point to the past if you want. Bush is gone. Debt is three times what it was under bush. Obama has done that. He is bush 3rd term maby. He said unemployment would decline—it has increased. Bush is gone. Our president did that.
Honor? See you in three years and we can discuss that honor. Maby it will be. But I have never seen a president leave the WH with honor. Not one
While we talk of honor, I'll repeat the question: What is wrong with waveing the American Flag. Tell me. Please!
3:28 pm on September 23rd, 2009 31
My mistake. My only excuse is that we (conservatives) hear it so often that we (I at least) expect to hear it at each turn.
3:35 pm on September 23rd, 2009 32
Well, I didn't know you thought I was a "nut". Guess you just lost points for having an open mind.
But, I should not be surprized. That is what Liberals do when someone doesn't automaticly agree with them — personal attack.
Yep, that'll show him how smart the Liberals are
4:00 pm on September 23rd, 2009 33
Fair enough
4:10 pm on September 23rd, 2009 34
If you really did watch fox Steve, you would know that they knew what it ment.
The left still loves to talk about balls rather than meetings. Which only causes me to wonder about the mental and moral issues on the left.
As to when it started, look to your partys reaction to the close election of 2004.
The left is filled with over paid and over educated "name callers".
Nancy Pelosi rants about how the CIA lied to her. But can't prove it. Didn't she understand what she was doing? She makes the Left look bad. Barney Frank has escaped blame in the housing problem. Something Bush tried to warn about. Not that the left will ever admit that. Check your beloved youtube.
Now the talkin point is the economy, which is tied into the housing market, which Frank was directly involved in and Bush tried to warn about—to a left controled congress and senate.
You want to talk about Medical problem?
What problem? I go to the doctor when I need too. I know his name and number. I call, make appointment and show up on time.
Those that have a problem didn't make a plan, and that is not MY problem.
Is the problem the cost of Health insurance? Not for me. I'm retired military. I paided with 20 years of SERVICE to the country.
I understand that civilian insurance cost are too high. How expensive will it be when it is free?
Do you really think a General Practice Doctor wants to work under the government controls needed to insure that all the hooded masses can be seen? I think not. They will go back to school to become specilist. Now we are short doctors. Unless your rich of course. The line between the middle class and poor just got thinner.
The overnments Job is not to take care of the People.
The Governments job is to protect the country.
If the differience is unclear to you, perhaps you might be part of the problem. I don't know.
I earned my health care.
But I'll tell you this, while I was active duty, medical sucked, and it was free from the government.
I never knew when I would be seen, just sit and wait.
I never knew who my doctor would be.
Assembly line health care was what it was.
If you like that, you likely can not afford real health insurance. But that is Obama care. Not in total but I have to take a shower soon.
4:15 pm on September 23rd, 2009 35
Don't forget the "joker".
The left was so OUTRAGED.
Where was the outrage when they did it to bush?
4:33 pm on September 23rd, 2009 36
Yeah, Nancy Pelosi has no excuse about the whole CIA thing. Just like I never bought Hillary Clinton's line in her Presidential campaign about Iraq. She was all for the Iraq invasion when it was convenient for her, and then against it, again, when it was politically convenient.
It seemed to me that all the same information was circulating around before and after the invasions, the only thing different was public opinion and who the politicians were sucking up to.
Unfortunately, I can't watch Fox, or any other US news channel over here, so, yes, I'm somewhat at the mercy of what ends up on YouTube or I read about on blogs such as ROKDrop.
And I agree that hell yeah, you earned your health care. No argument there. But part of me thinks that why does something like health care have to EARNED? We don't earn the right to have firefighters help save our houses or police protection. What's so different about health care?
What's more, if the military's medical system is cost-effective and can be adapted and improved upon, then why not expand it to the whole country? It certainly doesn't take anything away from those that served in the military. It could even improve it for everyone, because Lord knows even the military medical system isn't perfect and I do believe the military should get the best medical care available.
(but also I read in a recent book by a doctor about how the big problem military medicine has been grappling with is a statistical one: More people are surviving their injuries, which is wonderful, but puts a whole new strain on the medical system and the system is still figuring out how to deal with it. Hope they figure it out soon.
4:39 pm on September 23rd, 2009 37
Whatever. Was anyone here NOT taught to stand in line with all their classmates and recite the Pledge of Allegiance? Or is it only 'indoctrination' when you agree with it? Anyway, luckily kids aren't kids forever and eventually some of them develop their own brains.

Yet another left wing individual who doesn't know the differience between sucking balls and political rallies.
Guess I can't take you too seriously either.

Retired GI?
What's wrong with flag-waving? Nothing. Not a thing.
The problem is that waving the flag doesn't accomplish much.
You can play all the "This is Obama's country now!" games you want, but I wonder what you'll be saying when we get over this bump because of the Obama admin. policies? Will you do as what so many others in the GOP have done and take credit? "Clinton was successful because of Reagan. Bush failed because of Clinton. Obama succeeded because of Bush?"
