I feel this was the mission. Perhaps not a complete success, but not a disaster. I feel for the Troops. Living the good life in Japan and then thrown into combat without proper weapons or training. I can only wonder if they had the time to deploy the 105s in front with appropriate camoflage and cover, what would be the result have been if they were used as anti tank weapons.
