From my experience, things were fine before DA/DT.

As a single soldier, I can understand that. Private's go home to the wife the cat the kid and the dog, while the Sergeant goes to the barracks room (to be called on at will) when needed.

Gay's in the military are STILL a SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP. I have seen the problems that special interest groups cause in the military in the USA. The american military is reluntent in the extream to except change. Example the m16 in vietnam.

On a personal note, I would like to see the DISCRIMINATION against single soldiers ended. But it never will. We are not a special interest group.

Chicken it's a slippery slope. One minute the gays are hooting at normal people, then the next minute they are trying to put their finger in your bum. A gay general has a lot of power over people. Once the gays take over the military, the normal people will quit so they don't have to follow the gay lifestyle.

Lots of people can't join the military, the gays, retards, criminals, druggies, cripples, the blind the obese for example. The military needs to be cohesive and orderly to operate. By the way, most of those people claim that their abnormality is not their fault.

I normally maxed my PU, got into the mid 70% for SU and made the run with some small time left over. But I seemed to be usefull at field time and motor pool days. NCOER was consistently above standard. E7 board just never cared for me. (hight/weight)? (race)? (sex)?

In Iraq in 2004, I told my toon daddy that I would be droping my retirement request in a couple of days. He made mention that since we were at war I could stay in two more years as an E6. I laughed out loud! The army didn't think enough of me to promote me but would ALLOW me to work for those of less experience than myself for two more years. I couldn't retire fast enough. Sick of working for those that knew less than myself. Enough of my bitchin. It felt good to air it out anyway.

My home is paid for. My car is paid for. When I get bored with the peace and quiet I can afford a trip to the PI. Pension isn't much for an E6, but it isn't my only source. I'm good and no strangers taping me every six months. Proud to serve and proud to retire.
