What he fears the most is ending up like Ceaucescu. After all, Ceaucescu tried to emulate North Korea–and we all know how that turned out for him.

I would hope Kim Jong Il would fear his soul being damned for eternity based upon his continuos hineous crimes against fellow innocent human beings. However since he is an Atheist and does not believe in God or Hell, I can only hope that he is one day captured and kept alive for the longest of torment until he realizes what hell on Earth he has given his subjects for his own selfish needs.

Alcyone,

The North Korean government only cares about keeping the power for itself. They ask for aid not because they care about their population but because they want to keep it fed enough so that it doesn't revolt. They've been using starvation for social engineering purposes since the 50's, if that isn't enough evidence of this.

So they won't accept denuclearization for aid even though international aid organizations are more than willing to help out but they demand free aid? And more over, they take reunion meetings hostage for it? Just.. wow…
