Incheon Bridge, the longest in Korea and the seventh longest in the world, spans 21.38 kilometers over the West Sea, linking Incheon International Airport and New Songdo City. The last remaining part, supported by cables, was completed Friday. It is scheduled to open to traffic on Monday.

Nobody seems to agree on the length of this bridge. I read in many places that the bridge itself is 12.3 km long. Everyone seems to agree that the expressway 21.3km, though.

I guess it might vary depending on where you consider the start of the bridge. You can probably measure the longest part where the bridge is suspended, or count the ‘ramp’ where it leads to the suspended part etc. Anyways, I’ve been following news on this bridge and I’m happy to see it finally completed. Very beautiful!

Yes, it probably depends whether the trestle and the suspended bridge are distinct structures or two parts of a unit.

They sure love to put floodlights along the highway here. You’d think that uranium grew on trees and nuclear waste could be made into toys for kids to play with.
