I knew I was in trouble after I made the statement. With some after thought, An was probobly just a little off balance and his ideas of Ito misinforming the Emperor a bit paranoid. An believed that the Emperor was much more inclined toward fair and just relationship as he was an admireror of the Emperor. Perhaps delusional.

My thoughts were more towards the annexation that occured later.

You speak of Ito as if he were the one who put in motion or engineered Japan's takeover of Korea. Why is Ito more guilty of that than Katsura or Yamagata or others?

And how would killing Ito, who had been forced to resign and was trying to stave off annexation of Korea, four years after the Ŭlsa Treaty be the right thing, even if her were "responsible" for it?

And are you saying that the Emperor of Japan had as his wishes a more prosperous Korea?

The right thing was that he killed Ito who was responsible for the "Eulsa treaty" that made Korea a protectorate of Japan, just prior to Koreas annexation by Japan. (any korean patriot who saw his country being sold out would have done so).

The wrong reason was that he only saw Ito as misinforming the Emperor of Japan as to the emperors wishes for a more prosperous Korea.

Explain, Gerry. What was the right thing that he did? And why was it the wrong reason that he did it?

An Chunggǔn should not be celebrated as a hero. I'm glad not every Korean reveres him like that.
