Picture of the Day: Dope Smoking English Teachers

More like cartoon of the day:

This cartoon comes courtesy of Brian in Jeollanam-do who also provides commentary on a Korea Herald article criticizing the depiction of foreigners in the Korean media.

Check it out.

Oh if you are wondering according to the cartoonist the guy on the right is supposed to be a gyopo.

Actually, that's what I was wondering when I first saw the picture. Nevertheless, the ethnic identity of the character on the right is obscure enough to justify the outrage.

Someone should draw a picture of a couple of koreans walking around with guns murdering innocent people, maybe 32 of them.

This is the kind of thing I show non koreans to show/prove to them that koreans are not the warm-hearted, friendly, polite and kind people they say they are.

I've already detered several people from going to teach in korea by showing them things like this- supplied by koreans themselves!

Keep up the good work koreans!!!

The cartoonist won't be punished for being incorrect. In fact, he'll probably get praise from his co-workers. It's a "badge of honor" to bash westerners among that leftist Korean media crowd. If the bashing is deserved or not seems to matter little. After all, why let facts get in the way of a "Death to waygookin?" story or cartoon?

Perhaps someone (e.g., the cartoonist) has been reading "Brother One Cell" again?

I wonder if that particular piece of pulp (which isn't entirely without merit, and it's better than any prison memoir I've ever penned) has made an impact in the ROK.
