I've been coughed on every day for the last 2 months by students who shortly thereafter become sick with the AH1N1 flu. I doubt I will become sick. For one reason, I wash my hands regularly, I don't pick my nose nor do I chew my nails (lets all be honest, we all know that's what they mean when they tell us not to touch our face), and...

Ever wonder why people only need one shot when they original thought that 2 where needed to induce immunity against the AH1N1 virus? Well, apparently it's because the vaccine primes your immune system. Yup, it suggests that most people already have partial immunity, especially those who get the seasonal flu vaccine every year or have gotten the most common H1N1 flu.

Get the vaccine (my family and I get the seasonal flu vaccine every year and will get this one whenever it's available to us)...just don't panic if you can't get it right away.

Stopped by the Camp Walker clinic this afternoon for the shot. The place was packed, standing room only inside. Stood in line 10 minutes and still never got in the door. And the whole time I waited no one exited. I had more important stuff to do so I left. Maybe I'll get one next week, but not if I have to stand in line for an hour.
