What a bunch of punks these kids are:
According to police, the four suspects — aged 15-18 and all children of U.S. military personnel — have been questioned by U.S. military police and have denied involvement. However, the Metropolitan Police Department concluded that the teens were involved after reviewing footage from a nearby security camera, among other sources, and are aiming to have the four turned over by Yokota Air Base authorities.
According to police, the 23-year-old victim came off her scooter when she was caught on the neck by the rope strung about 1.4 meters above the road. The incident left the woman with a broken neck, and she spent three months recovering from the injury. [via Japan Probe]
I think it will be interesting to see what these punks are charged with because I think doing something like this could warant a murder charge because they are lucky this woman on the scooter didn’t die.

I’m sure they thought it would be funny at the time. Most stupid acts by teenagers think they are the smartest people to walk the earth when they do stupid things of this nature.
Being deported is another issue, that may depend on the military investigation as well. It is not unknown for politics to come into play for certain issues, especially when a military investigation shows the opposite to be true and politicians and others rapidly form vigilanty groups. It is not unheard of.
Having said that, I suspect the teens may be guilty (I’m prejudging)and will not be allowed to leave. They will face the court for a deadly prank that almost killed an innocent driver. As they should.

As far as ‘them strange asians’ Tom, you’re a ‘racist’ looking for a person to argue with. You’re trying your best to start a racial argument.

Agreed. Nothing is ever mentioned about the race of those dependants. Just because they are American does not mean they may not also be Asian themselves.
There have been assaults committed in Korea by Korean American dependants. So, lay off the racial arguments.

When you read the original article, it doesn’t mention a broken neck it says she suffered a fractured skull. Where can I find the article about her breaking her neck?

I doubt this was meant as an homage to old silent film stars like Buster Keaton or Harold Lloyd (which would still be pretty reckless of them)…So, what they hell were they thinking?
