Tiger Woods seriously hurt in auto accident

» by in: Sports Related

He hit a fire hydrant near his Orlando Florida home early Friday morning. From the Orlando Sentinel-

Professional golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident early this morning, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Woods, 33, pulled out of his driveway in the Isleworth community about 2:25 a.m. when he struck a fire hydrant, and then drove into a tree at his neighbor’s property, FHP reported.

Alcohol is not related to the accident, FHP said.

Woods was transported to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee in serious condition, FHP said. No other information about his condition has been released.

A Health Central hospital employee said at 2:30 p.m. that Woods was not a patient. A hospital operator would not say if Woods had been treated and released.

Hippa prevents hospitals from giving out patient information. I’ll update the post when more information is made available.

Update- Woods agent says he is fine.

    No alcohol

    No drugs

Am I to believe that he was sleep driving?

Pure conjecture of course but: 02:30… Wife happened to be in proximity with a golf club. If no substances were involved, then we have the makings of a domestic dispute. Tiger took off, pissed off, and lost control.

    Doesn't add up.

Driving under 30 mph but the car hit a hydrant AND a tree just outside his home?

The Cadillac Escalade's airbag doesn't deploy but is damaged so badly that his wife says she had to smash the windows with a golf club to get him out?

The police arrive to find the wife over Tiger who is disoriented and has bloody face?

I'm betting this is a domestic dispute and assault case. Which makes more sense when you put the order of events in reverse. Bloody face and disorientation. Then smashed SUV windows. Then, car hits hydrant and tree.

But, as usual with the money class, no charges will be filed.

According to TMZ, he was having an affair and his Swedish wife caught him. He left the house in an angry mood.

The media would play this a whole lot differently if it was the wife that ended up with the bloody face. Let's see how they handle it.

She "saved" him by knocking out the back glass? An idiot may believe that one.

I'de like to hear the 911 call.

I am confused. Did his wife hit him with the club before or after the vehicle struck the tree?

It looks like they had a dispute over the National Enquirer article alleging an affair and he ran outside to drive away and she attacked the vehicle with the golf club thus breaking the window and causing him to have an accident.

Tiger is rumored to be cheating on his wife. They had a fight and he fled the scene to go get a lap dance or something. Wrecked the car because he was blind with rage.

I have 5 bucks on this.

I'm not going to speculate on what took place. TMZ and the Networks are seriously unreliable on breaking news. Anyone remember Balloon Boy? The bombing of the State Department on 9-11? Press Secretary James Brady being pronounced dead? All the rumors about the actor Heath Ledger after he died?

So called experts give their opinions and these then get twisted into facts. I don't know what happened that night, and neither does most of the news media. The Woods family are the only ones who know the real truth.

Lets see, not alcohol. Not drugs.

Add the report of him possibly messin around.

Knowing how some women "might" react, and you don't have to be a rocket scientist.

She did have a golf club in hand. ;-)

I am open to the possibility that Woods supposed affair is nothing more then an attempt by the woman to get publicity. This woman supposedly entered and exits a little while later a hotel that Woods stayed at while playing in Australia. Maybe this woman intentionally went to the hotel and tipped off the paparazzi to take her picture coming in and out even though she had no intention of meeting Woods. This is the age of balloon boy and White House party crashers so anything is possible with all these people craving publicity.

SURPRISE: Injuries Caused by Wife, Not SUV

It appears Tiger Woods drives like Mike Tyson whenever trees and fire hydrants jump into his path.

My problem with all the spin is it seems to be on what Tiger may have done or not done.

So far as we know, he was not drinking but he was the one ending up in the hospital bloody and semi-conscious. Can we presume that he was a victim of spousal battering? His wife may have clubbed him. Can we twist the political correctness knob far enough to even consider that?

Sometimes, in domestic disputes, the men can be victims too.

Don't know what post your reading Joe.

Mine and most others point to his wife beating the crap out of him with one of his golf clubs.

Yes, women can and often ARE quite violent. Sometimes you just have to either get away from them or hit them back.

So we agree, males can be the victim of violent females. It just doesn't get the press.

I know absolutely nothing about Tiger Wood's private residence…but I think it's safe to assume he lives in a nice, big place that cost several million dollars.

So…he lives in a place like that and he has to BACK OUT OF HIS DRIVEWAY?? He doesn't have a place to turnaround (circle drive or space outside the garage)??

    Something doesn't add up here.
