Well Hello, My name is Jim Young and I live in Cortland Ohio. 1960-'61 I was at Osan in the 6314th
Air Police Sq. I'm sitting in front of my computer and Hill 170 and 180 came to my mind and I did a google on 170 and here you are! I was blown away when I saw the pic of Crazy Mary. Yes We came to blows ONCE. From then on a would slip her a low denomination Hwan paper note.
Chuck Connor and I were at the same AP Sqdn at the same time but I did now know him then. I saw him one night on the Bio channel and he gave his service info. That's how I know we served there together.
Lets keep in touch, Jim Young

I had just gone to bed with my 'yobo' and was starting to drowse off when a stick crossed above my face heading toward my watch on the night table. I turned and yelled, (don't remember what, probobly 'what the f**k'), when the stick dropped and I jumped to the window just in time to see the slicky boy running down the alley.

The Air Policeman was on a plane out of the country before the sunset the next day. We went on alert and could not leave the base for about 2 weeks. There was a saying that a slicky boy could steal a radio and leave the music. At that time on the other side of the runways, the only thing there was a road with small fence.

Kalani great posting and pictures. Fascinating stuff. I found it interesting how the guard was able to shoot a Korean slicky boy and was flown out of the country. Could you imagine what would happen today if the same scenario happened?

Awesome pictures and a memory of times past. I did not arrive until 1974 yet had many friends who were stationed or TDY to Osan and "Chicol ville" at that time. While I was there for three months before I was sent to Palgongsan, I well remember the OB club, Arragon alley, food stalls in the street, Stereo club, shantys and community baths.

From what I understand from ROK Drop, most of it is long gone, replaced by a few high priced rip off joints.
