ATEK did send a Korean version to the Korea press.

It was the media rep, not the head that resigned last year. And he wasn't a "kiddie diddler" - whatever they hell that means.

And what is the promote the gay lifestyle crack about? Because they are against mandatory AIDS and drug tests for foreigners only? Idiot, what's so "gay" about that?

Actually, the first steps to organizing a union was taken a long time before ATEK even existed. But, as far as I know, the teachers at Berlitz were the first ones to become unionized (shortly before ATEK was founded).

And why not Tom. You koreans are the best in Asia for English as I've heard from students time and again, it would be only natural.

Since you're totally blinded by korean nationalism, maybe you could do the translating or a draft dodging gyopo who's bilingual can do it.

You can't trust korean nationals to interpret what you say accurately. The way your media purposely edits to slant what foreigners have to say proves that. Love those street interviews.

Yes, I know it happens in the US, the country that helped save you, but not to the degree you koreans do it.

There is lots of proof for this Tom outside of my dimension.

Since you use words like "probably", who knows?

Or maybe you do know since you know what it's like to be a visible minority in korea.

Just one question. Was ATEK's public letter in Korean? Probably not. They expect the Korean savage heathens to know and understand Engrishi.

My impression of ATEK is that it is trying to fight the good fight for the foreign English teachers in Korea. The sudden resignation this year of its head confused me, but I have seen nothing wrong with the goals that they want to achieve.

I have not heard any of the rumors stated by LORDOFU2 -- but they certainly are what ATEK is trying to combat. Well, on second thought -- yes, I have. Read the Hankyoreh's past issues and that is what they have been saying about ALL -- yes, ALL -- foreign teachers. Every foreign teacher is a crack-smoking, drug-crazed, pedophile with HIV out to rape all the pure virginal Korean women on the streets. Yes, there are a group of rotten apples out there diddling Koreans -- after coming to Korea to "see the world" and screw as many slant-eyes as they can before they return to settle down in America.

The biggest fight is that ATEK is trying to ORGANIZE the teachers to get some numbers behind the organization -- and then be able to protest the unjust conditions that exist in Korea with respect to foreign teachers with a voice of solidarity.

ATEK is the first step towards organizing a UNION -- and if that doesn't cause a hagwon owner to pee in their pants, nothing will. To the hagwon owners, ATEK must be destroyed at all costs.

Why the kissee-face letter to Hankyoreh? ATEK is pandering to Hankyoreh because they are just trying to grease the skids so that Hankyoreh won't write bad things about them. Remember that the Hankyoreh is one of the biggest slammers of foreign teachers around. Their past articles have been usually hate-filled diatribes. So if ATEK is trying to butter them up to get them to back off...who am I to condemn them?

All I know about ATEK is that one of their leaders is a kiddie diddiler and they actively promote the gay lifestyle.

I don't personally care about gays and the amoral things that they do in their bedroom. That is between them and GOD. And GOD will surely punish them for their wickedness.

I do draw the line at encouraging children to engage in the gay lifestyle.
