Appearing on this show will probably give the Wonder Girls more exposure than their recent concert appearances with the Jonas Brothers:
South Korea’s female pop group Wonder Girls will perform on the popular FOX television show “So You Think You Can Dance,” the group’s local agent said Friday.
The South Korean divas, who made their U.S. debut this past summer, will take the stage with American Idol Season Eight winner Kris Allen on Dec. 9, before votes are announced on six contestants scheduled to perform during the following week’s finale of the popular U.S. program, JYP Entertainment said.
Wonder Girls will perform their hit song “Nobody” while Allen will sing his newest single “Live like You’re Dying.” [Yonhap]
You can say what you want about the Wonder Girls, but they have definitely been working hard to make it in the US.

It would certainly give them a lot of exposure. I don’t know if it’s an indication of how little I care about top 40 music and/or of the show’s hit making power, but I had never any of Rihanna’s puerile songs until I was put through the 30 minutes of torture that is that show by my wife.

I read somewhere these five girls have been living in New York for about two straight years to get a feel of the culture while getting there faces out in the public. Don’t know how well they are doing, but Ive seen a couple Wonder Girls interviews. You could almost mistake them for Korean-Americans who grew up in LA!
I hope they make it in the States…

Ha, they haven’t been in the US for two years. It’s more like 6 months. One of them has become very good at English, but the others are still very accented.

They’ve been in the US two years singing “Nobody” to anybody who’ll listen? The one-hit Wonder Girls. Unless they are able to expand their act in America beyond one song, their 15 minutes of fame is almost up.

We can only hope!

Maybe they could star in a reality show with Jon Gosselin. He’s Korean, right?

They are produced and managed by JY Park. He’s a tireless promoter and seems to be fairly knowledgeable of the music business and relatively well connected in America (considering he’s Korean). If anyone can get them to the next level – I think it would be him.
Now…whether he can actually get them there remains to be seen. But at least they have a fighting chance with him in their corner.

One thing different about Wonder girls from other failures that tried to debut in the US (boa, se7en, ect.) is that they are actually working and promoting, boa must have thought she could make it here with her half assed english that she lies about “working on” and just sitting on her ass dreaming of work in the US to just be handed to her.

Hehe! Some of their Facebook followers probably do need to be watched carefully over the next few days the way they are acting.

Don’t give up hope. The porn industry is always hiring.

To be fair, they are under the firm control of a very ambitious production company. I don’t think they had much say in where they were taken.
To be more fair, that’s also true for almost all studio pop groups in the States too.
