N747PA is located in Hamheeng, Myeonok, Gyeonggi-do.

This is the first 747 ever made and is now a restaurant.

    Sorry Hamheung, Myeonok, Gyeonggi-do

Upon its retirement from service, the 747 number two in the production line was dis-assembled and shipped to Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea where it was re-assembled and converted into a restaurant. It was originally flown commercially by Pan Am as N747PA "Clipper Juan T. Trippe". It was also involved in a tailstrike accident once. It was repaired and stayed with the airline until the airline went bankrupt. As of April 2009, the 747 restaurant is closed and abandoned.

Leon, you are correct that it is the second built. It was the first to fly and I actually walked on the airplane in 1970 at Tampa International Airport when Boeing was parading the 747 around. However, I don't remember it looking like it does in the pictures now.

Oh my God. I knew I wasn't crazy. I remember as a kid living in Seoul taking the bus to school, and we passed by this plane every day. It was so long ago that I honestly started to believe that I saw this in a dream. It just made no sense! Great Korea Finder post!

When I first saw this, I was going to guess that it was around Wolgye-dong in Seoul, near the Chungnangch'ŏn River, where there is/was such a plane (also a restaurant). I just now tried to find it on Google Maps, though, and I can't seem to locate it.

It seems this may be some sort of theme, like the ship-in-the-middle-of-nowhere restaurants that lovers go to on their trysts.

That one that used to be in Wolgye disappeared about five years ago.

Thanks. I was dating someone who used to live up that way, and I drove by it a lot, though never went in. I thought it was still there in August 2006 when I left for Hawaii.

I want to challenge! Stop the clock and the bus! Let's see the instant replay and take it to the booth.

Seriously, I have the exact address (and phone number  ), in Namyangju and a current Google map photo of the one (1) winged plane (the left wing of this one is missing) sitting by a curved ramp in Namyang ju. I also have links to a blogger who actually visited this plane who also lists it in Namjang ju. GI are ye sleeping on the switch or did you not scroll down?

Lemmy admits his map googling consisted of 2004 images (msg 4).

Sorry Lemmy old chap – I'm pretty confident and think I have it, what say you?
