    "Thursday is the 'onset of spring'…"

    Traditionally, in Korea and China, the vernal equinox marks the middle of the season.

    Just a bit of trivia that I find interesting:

    The Chinese word for equinox, 分, means an equal division within a season. Equinox is derived from the Latin aequus(equal) and nox (night) (the day and night are of equal length at an equinox). Interesting coincidence, don't you think?
