Is anyone shocked at all to read about these security lapses?:
A South Korean security company will be allowed to continue manning entryways at U.S. Army installations despite at least two cases of negligence within the past seven months — one of which involved a drunken driver who drove past two checkpoints at a high-security facility.
The facility, Command Post Tango, is a bunker on the outskirts of Seoul that would serve as the U.S. command and control center during a war.
The security lapse there occurred during last summer’s annual Ulchi Freedom Guardian, a two-week U.S.-South Korea joint military exercise.
The two incidents were severe enough that the 411th Contracting Support Brigade threatened in a Sept. 7 letter to end the military’s contract with Joeun Systems Corp., valued at almost $25 million this year, if similar incidents occurred.
Although at least two guards in a later incident were found sleeping on the job at Tango, the military said last week it has no plans to sever its relationship with Joeun.
Despite the security failures, Installation Management Command-Korea, which oversees U.S. military facilities in South Korea, has “no contractual grounds” to terminate Joeun’s contract, according to IMCOM-K spokesman Slade Walters.
“The contract prescribes predetermined courses of action for some specific lapses,” he said. “Security lapses have been addressed in accordance with the terms of the contract and, to date, Joeun … has taken the appropriate actions required by the contract.” [Stars & Stripes]
You can read the rest at the link, but guards sleeping on the job is really nothing new.

honestly the security is a joke and unless it was seriously changed these incidents would continue to happen even if MP's were at the gates
i can turn right into gate 52 and not have to drive around concrete barriers by the time the guards did anything i would be pretty much on my way to do whatever i needed to do for example blow something up
most of the guards are older korean males who are probably not paid that much 1.5 million won a month maybe less who knows
the security again is a joke both guard wise and the in-depth layers that would prevent someone from getting thru a gate in the first place
