Comparing both skaters it seems to me that Yuna would win a beatuty contest in an eventual contest with Asada.

Yuna has a very enchanting and nice look.

She will make millions bucks in publicity.

Kim will stumble and Asada will win the gold. The Korean zeitgeist will be shattered more so than when Dr. Hwang Woo Suk was proven to be a liar.

You write that based on one picture? Try this one http://www.maoasadafanwebsite.com/mesimages/comme…

Anyway, Yuna will get her endorsements in Korea, if she wins, and Asada will get her endorsements in Japan, if she wins. Obviously two different markets. But, since I haven't as much experience in Japan as I do in Korea, I don't know if Japan over-hypes their athletes of the moment the way Korea does, so you may be right.

And, it's not always based on their looks. Remember the Korean female weightlifter from thae last Summer Olympics?

She already made $8 million last year, making her the highest paid winter Olympian.

And Ms Mao Asada is cute enough, even though on occasion she takes pictures with a weird face.

Yes Japan over-hypes their athletes also. That's what US sports announcers say when talking about Japanese athletes in Golf/baseball.

Well, the Canadian skater may win. Home court advantage AND her mother just passed away just days ago tragically. Never know until it's done and over…

You are right, she is cute, but to me she looks more like a female Oompa Loompas in your pictures.

    I know… I know .. it was not polite ….

As if Korean and American sports announcers don't over-hype their own.

But, yes, I was in Japan a few days ago and had a chance to watch the Japanese Olympic coverage…Pretty much the same thing as in Korea. They mostly show the sports Japanese do well in, and by that I mean they show the ones in which they've won a medal…over and over and over again.

Oh, and the Japanese soccer players cry like little girls when they lose a match, especially against the Korean national team.

The judging has been pretty dismal (the American won the men's competition even though the Russian was clearly better…heck, some analysts had the American in third or fourth position), so anything is possible.

PS. The American's victory in the men's competition proves exactly what I was telling you guys about the new point system…It's BS.

You're probably not in Korea if you haven't noticed that her image is used to sell anything from milk to air conditioners.

To the grannies and creepy middle-aged men who follow figure skating closely, they most certainly are.

The Russian wasn't "clearly" better, other than the quads. Evan was the btter overall skater. Pushenko's superior jump couldn't save his bland, emotionless performance.

Idiot, ignorant, retarded, broken record, and now I'm a pedo … whatever …

But she is still a beautiful woman and I regret that in some culture people can not openly stated that a woman is attractive and sexy without fear.

Do you know how many times I've heard golfer 'Ai Miyazato' called 'a rock star in Japan'. You don't want to know………

Well I'm 49-years-old(and a ROK Drop contributor). I'll probably watch Kim skate.

I don't follow figure skating but used it as the basis recently for one of my online stories. Hockey is the sport on ice I really like.

Kim Yu-na is 19 years old, and you don't even know what pedophilia is (like 99,99% of the population).

Bottom line…..Yuna Kim has peaked. Most people worldwide don't trust/respect the Koreans.
