That report at the link had a newspaper report which mentioned vanquishing Japan – I hope Kim Yu-na hasn't made that a personnel objective, hopefully she's above that. Though I see that anti-Ilbon attitude continues among many as an enduring national objective…

I remember reading before that Kim Yu-na and Mao Asada are actually friends despite all the media hype that makes them out to be bitter rivals. You figure all the time they spend together competing in all these competitions they would get to know other pretty well.

Yes. I believe she was already the most profitable/rewarded/sought-after celebrity among the athletes competing in Vancouver, BEFORE the Olympics started. Even more than Shawn White I believe.
