Korea Times Advocates for A Dokdo Museum That Already Exists

Brian In Jeollanam-do brings us news that the Korea Times is advocating for a Dokdo Museum:

As far as the historical issues are concerned, the ruling camp needs to be assertive and take more effective measures to bolster Korea’s rightful sovereignty over Dokdo. Building a history museum on Dokdo or nearby larger Ullung Island will help students and visitors learn more about them.  [Korea Times]

This assertion is made at the end of a rambling article condemning Japan.  What is so concerning about this article is that there already is a Dokdo Museum on Ulleungdo.  I know because I have been there:

How does a Korean journalist bashing Japan not know there already is a Dokdo Museum?

As far as building a Dokdo Museum on the Dokdo Islets; since I have been there as well, I say it wouldn’t be much of a museum considering there is no room to build one unless they convert one of the buildings already there used by the authorities that guard the islets, into a museum.  Even if they did that the museum wouldn’t be as big as the one already constructed on Ulleongdo.

Nevertheless you would still have two museum, which would make no sense, which is par for the course with the Korea Times.

You've got to have two museums – one close to the actual islands, and one on the mainland.

You also have extra tax won left over that has to be budgeted for something – all the bribes have been paid, so you have to perform…

I never read the Korea Times because they have real problems with reportage.

Perhaps they should do an article on Godzilla. I hear he is a really big Japanese monster too.
