Picture of the Day: Exploring Jeju’s Lava Tube Caves

Jeju World Natural Heritage is now providing a virtual tour with 360 degree panoramas of two of its lava tubes. Just a click away, you can enjoy the perfect preservation of these World Natural Heritage sites blended with numerous beautiful cave formations like stalactites and stalagmites.

You can read more about Jeju’s lava tube caves here.

If visiting Jeju Island I highly recommend adding the lava tube caves to your itinerary because they are quite scenic and interesting to see first hand.

Lava tubes are an interesting byproduct of volcanic activity. Unfortunately, Cheju's are too well-protected for spelunkers to go out on their own, but if you're ever in northeastern California, up near the Oregon border, I highly recommend taking a day to visit Lava Beds National Monument. You get a hard hat and a flashlight and can explore the network of rugged caves to your heart's content. [LINK]
