Foot & Mouth Disease Spreads In Korea

It seems this continues to spread within Korea cattle ranches:

Another suspected case of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) has been reported in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province.

The Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said a cow showing signs of the disease at a farm in the city has been reported to authorities.

The farm is three-point-six kilometers away from the pig farm where a case of FMD was confirmed on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a suspected case reported Friday night in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, has tested negative for the disease.

Although the virus does not affect humans, it can be carried by them, raising concerns about a further spread this weekend due to increased movement of people amid the spring weather.

Autorities set up additional quarantine centers and are restricting the transport of people and vehicles.  [KBS Global]

I drove through a couple toll gates that exited in farm areas and they had a spray laying accross the road that sprayed my whole car. I am guessing it had something to do with Foot & Mouth Disease.

I'm just shocked that this whole outbreak hasn't been blamed squarely on the U.S. yet. But, I guess that's coming.

I'm sure it will be foreigners fault, nothing could ever be the fault of Koreans.

I'm sure Englishee teachers will be quarantened and Korean nationals won't.

I'd really like to be positive, but it's been shown to happen.
