These allegations wouldn’t be very surprising if they turned out to be true considering South Korea’s chummy relationship between businessmen and politicians:
Lee Myung-Bak said the service should regain public trust by changing its “internal culture,” according to the presidential office.
In a programme aired by MBC television last week, the construction company chief in the southern port of Busan claimed he had bribed about 100 prosecutors over two decades starting in 1984.
The man identified as 51-year-old Mr Jeong disclosed a list of 57 prosecutors and their cellphone numbers. He gave detailed written accounts of cash, sex with prostitutes and other favours he had offered.
The Supreme Prosecutors’ Office set up a panel headed by a law professor at Seoul National University to look into the case.
The head of the prosecutors’ office in Busan, who was among those named by Mr Jeong, has been relieved of his duties until the panel completes its probe.
“Prosecutors should use this case as a chance to change their internal culture,” Lee told a meeting of top aides. “Everybody should realise the seriousness of this problem.” [Daily Telegraph]

And in other news, the Seoul Police arrests "Mr. L" age (27), an American, and a "Mr. J" (age 36), a Korean American, for putting up pictures of 12 women on the internet to sell sex. They were sold to foreigner customers which comprised of 70% USFK soldiers. The other percentage included native English teachers, university professors, and foreign businessmen. The women came from Philippines, Vietnam, and Russia. The customers were charged from 200,000Won to 500,000 Won per hour. The police will investigate 4000 people who contacted the site through the emails. More foreignershinanigans.

70% USFK? I'll bet this gets brushed under the rug, especially if there's any high rank involved.

Yeah, only a Korean like Tom would believe, without question, everything a Korean newspaper says about foreigners.
Maybe it is true, maybe it isn't, but considering all the times Korean media outlets have fabricated evidence and told lies about foreigners in Korea, I'll still question everything they and Koreans in general say about anything.
How many of those USFK personel are ethnic Koreans Tom? Did your senoir tell you yet?
More Korean bullshit.
Let's face it, the majority of those invovled in the sex trade, including the customers in Korea, are Koreans.
The majority of those who oppress women in Korea, Korean or otherwise, are Korean men. I know, I know. It's a hard pill to swallow, but some soju will help it all go down.
BTW, the women's services were sold, not the women themselves, that should tell you something about the story right away.

I guess they haven't arrested you yet.

Tom,
The reason he hasn't been arrested is because your mom (and your sisters) never charge him for their services. (sorry, I couldn't resist!)

Dude, the Korean sex industry worth is almost 2% of the GDP. You want us to believe 4000 guys are responsible for that?

The hookers in my town must be awfully hungry if they earn a living servicing American soldiers since none live nearby and fewer would want to come here just for that.
