I mentioned earlier this week how some members in Congress and think tank types want to cut the pay and benefits of people who serve in the US military, yet here is a perfect example of what these Congress people don’t want to cut:
The Pentagon doesn’t want an alternate engine for the F-35 fighter; they’ve tried to terminate the program since fiscal 2007. Congress has continued to fund the program over Pentagon and administration objections. Obama threatened a veto in 2009, but Congress still added more funds for an alternative engine. The fiscal 2010 Defense spending bill included $465 million for an alternative F-35 engine. The FY2010 defense appropriations bill (signed by Obama on Dec. 19, 2009) included $430 million to continue alternate engine development and appropriated $35 million for alternate engine procurement. Well, they cut 40,000 airforce jobs to pay for the F22 and then cut the program at 180 when the planes were around 135 million a copy. The cuts ultimately didnt' save money, and then they found they couldn't run things without those people, so they had to then hire thousands of untrained people to help fill the holes. Now the JSF is over 100 million, can't do what the F22 can do, has only one engine and is still tauted as the "affordable" version. Makes as much sense as anything.
Retarded has become so ubiquitous there should be a new word for retarded. I can this the newtard.

American war industry is a mammoth that lives for self preservation. The roles were changed: now the USA exist to preserve and feed the mammoth.

Dr. Yu. Just becuase the Koreans for 5,000 years have failed to stop sucking China's tit, do not assume the Americans will follow suit for soo dreadfully long.
9:13 pm on May 15th, 2010 10
America is already sucking China's tit. Haven't you seen how Obama went to China with his hat in hand?
America is afraid of China, and what's America going to do about it? Face it, you guys are losing, and losing bad.

No palin fan, but I did notice that you used the word "earn". Interesting. I did not expect that from a Liberal/Canadian with a Masters Degree. Sorry, "two" Masters Degrees.

FOOD? Shocking that one who constantly speaks of the fat americans, would find america short of food. I'm more concerned about bullets then beans. My garden is doing fine.

This from a Libtard?
Only a Libtard can be so concerned with what some simple country girl might think. Of course you did suggest that she does, in fact, think.
Was that a Libtard slip of the tongue.

There IS a new term for mentally retarded. They're now called cognitively impaired, or CI among acronym-loving educators.

"There IS a new term for mentally retarded. They’re now called cognitively impaired, or CI among acronym-loving educators."
A euphemism change generally indicates a turd is trying to be polished. Big turds get frequent changes.
Minutes after CI becomes mainstream, the slang will follow… and it will be right back where it started.
Will it be coggies or cog-tards?

Wise move ditto81, keep deviating the focus from the problem.
Why worry about this issue if you can focus all your time and energy insulting Korea, that BTW has nothing with this subject.
