Picture of the Day: Korean Bossam Pork

Bossam is thin slices of boiled pork, served (wrapped) with leaf vegetable such as kimchi, lettuce or sesame leaf. It is often accompanied by a condiment known as ssamjang and usually topped with raw or cooked garlic, onion, pepper, or sometimes raw oyster.

    I love that stuff, a place where we live does the steam and grilled type…uummm uumm goood. Guess that's as close as i'll get to kalua pig here.

    Those once were the only places that delivered late at night. Yep, drunk food.

    Yes, those were the good old days when it was still very affordable to eat out or order in. We had some bossam on Sunday, 36000 won for 3 people, about twice as expensive as it was just a few years ago. It was even less expensive in the 90's.

    I showed the photo to my wife and she prepared it for dinner last night. We've been married for 34 years and first time I've had it. We'll be eating it again. Went to one of the Korean grocery stores here in El Paso for the pork, a little expensive but well worth it. Keep posting photos of different meals. We watch the food shows on one of the Korean channels and she usually whips something up from the show.
