Help Identifying A South Korean Movie

Can anyone help identify this movie for this reader:

I’ve been trying to find the title or some hint or trace of this movie for quite some time, hopefully you can help.

I can only vaguely remember, but it’s about a rich South Korean kid and a poor North Korean kid who get stuck in a mudhole somehow and fight each other, but eventually befriend each other. They end up working together to get out of the hole, and the rich boy gives the poor boy his shoes so he can run home. A soldier sees this and shoots one of the boys, and as his new friend runs to him, the 2nd boy is also shot. I saw this film in the 80s so I have no idea how old it is other than at least 20 years old. Any help is appreciated!  [ROK Drop Forums]

At the beginning the plot looks like "No Man's Land", but of course it is a movie about adults stuck in a trench between in the middle of front line and the background is a war in former Yugoslavia. And it's not a Korean movie at all.

BTW, "No man's land" is a piece of movie really worth watching :-)
