Recently General Sharp attended a ceremony farewelling o international officers that were LNO’s to the UN command in Yongsan. This picture shows the various uniforms of the LNO’s but I was wondering if anyone knew who the woman in picture is? If she was a wife then why didn’t the others bring their wives?

She is the wife of COL Rojos, the departing Columbian LNO to her right. He was the only LNO to have his wife present.

Lucky man! I'd do her.
Oh, did I say that out loud?

Abrieviations should always be preceeded with the full title before abrieviated. What is an LNO?

Gerry – LNO in this case is Liaison Officer. The LNOs are the delegates that serve on the UNCMAC (United Nations Command Military Advisory Commission) who's primary duties are to monitors the armistice. There are 16 nations in the UNCMAC: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Columbia, Denmark, France, Greece, ROK, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Thailand, Turkey, UK and the US. I don't recall if they change out some countries occasionally or if they have always been the same since the 50s, but I have participated in many of these ceremonies and it seems that the countries are always the same. The LNOs serve something like one to two year tour on the commission…

I would have said the brit has the dopiest smile I have ever seen, Are you perhaps mistaking a Greek Colonel for a British Captain? Here they are closest to furthest from camera:
Columbia liaison officer, Colonel Rojas
Unknown
Greek Liaison to United Nations Command, Colonel Polytardis
Canadian Liaison, Captain Andre Langlois;
Captain Soontawnkrut, from Thailand;
Captain Gareth Derrick from the United Kingdom.
And Gen Sharpe

I am the United Nations Command (UNC) Honor Guard commander who was the commander of troops for the ceremony. Some LNOs prefer to not bring their wives on stage, are not married, or the wife was not in South Korea.
Matt – Uniform choices are strange when executing a ceremony. For the LNO ceremony, the Honor Guard wore what is called Ceremonial ACUs (color patches instead of subdued patches) with the white belt and UNC belt buckle.

When you have a gaggle of multinational brass from the joint services in a group photo like this, IMO, naval captains (O-6's) need to be identified also by branch of service, e.g., "Captain Andre Langlois, Canadian Navy; Captain G. Derrick, Royal Navy; etc. Otherwise, army folks would confuse them for O-3's.
