Ability of the North Korean military to keep its tanks and trucks operating in front lines was sharply cut when the Chosen Oil Refinery at Wonsan was bombed out of operation in four attacks in July and August by B-29 Superforts of the U.S. Far East Air Forces Bomber Command. The refinery provided almost all the finished petroleum products for Red mobile units.
