Another South Korean celebrity Park Yong-ha has reportedly committed suicide:

A popular South Korean actor and singer was found dead Wednesday in an apparent suicide that would be the latest in a recent string of high-profile suicides in the Asian country, police and a news report said.
Park Yong-ha, 33, apparently hanged himself in his home in Seoul, Yonhap news agency reported, citing police.
An official with Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency told The Associated Press that Park was found hanging by the electric cord of his mobile phone battery charger. However, police were still trying to determine the exact cause of death, the official said on condition of anonymity, citing department policy.
Park debuted in the late 1990s and starred in the 2002 television drama “Winter Sonata,” which drummed up a following in Japan and Southeast Asia. He held several concerts in Japan and one of his fans was said to be its former first lady Akie Abe.
Yonhap reported no suicide note was found, but the Seoul police agency said Park told his family “I’m sorry. I’m sorry” while massaging his father, who is terminally ill with stomach cancer, early Wednesday. [Associated Press]
It is amazing how many Korean celebrities continue to kill themselves. The only movie I remember Park from is 2002′s Winter Sonata (Yes I admit it, I watched it), which was both a domestic Korean and international success. He left no suicide note so who knows what the real story to all this is going to end up being.

Was Organ donation a possibility? If your going to off yourself, you should at least plan ahead and leave your "parts" to someone who needs them.
Let me guess, they don't do that in Korea.
Thanks for the grin
chickenhead.

While is father is terminally ill? That's terrible.
Korean celebrities who've sought medical help for depression should come out to urge those in need to do the same.

When they found him, his eyes were dial-ated.

Does that make him a bigger cell-ebrity?
…or just a hanger-oner?
3:33 pm on June 30th, 2010 8
Word is he killed himself because he couldn't get a part in a movie.
Now, he is only on cable.

You guys shouldn't be talking shiit about a person who passed away. If you guys dont know anything dont say shiit, dont assume people. You dont know the real facts here,. And some of the posts here are rude. And btw, he was suppose to be in a drama in a couple of months. If you dont know the guy dont make up stuff about him.

Q: How is a hurt and angry, teary-eyed fanboy like a cellphone charger?
A: They both give you support after you are dead.
Q: How are they different?
A: The fanboy will keep your memory alive. The other will just leave you hanging.

@ 16 Now listen here nut-breath. Any worthless piece of dung can kill themselves.
Since he thought of himself as worthless, speakin for myself only, I agree with his judement. He was at least worth a cell phone charger necktie. No more and certainly deserving of no pity what so ever. "he was supposed to be in a drama" —big deal. I know people that raise families. That is drama. I know people that understand their life means something. This idiot thought his life was worth nothing. Since he killed himself—I agree with him.
#17 What makes you think that anyone here gives a crap what you think we look like to you. At least we didn't hang ourselves with a cell phone charger.
Your idol was an idiot for wasting his life like that and deserves to be the butt of any joke that can be thought up.
Serious enough for ya? Did he at least leave his body for science to study or was he COMPLETELY worthless?

For those of u who think this is funny or making fun of his death should be ashamed of yourselves.I wonder how funny it would be if it were to happen to someone you loved.None of you walk in his shoe to know what he was going through to make him chose to end it,so judgment shouldn't come from you but from god only.RIP PARK YOUNG HA.

I guess he followed God's calling.

Firstly, he'll never know anyone is talking bad about him. He's dead. Second, apparently some believe he'll be judged by the big man. We'll friends, the owners manual clearly states he will burn in hell and should be scorned. So actually, those making fun of him are executing gods will while those defending him are defending something distasteful to their deity. Go figure.
Besides, in a couple of years, none of you will remember him. Go be morally outraged elsewhere. It's not worth killing yourself over.

you guys are bitches. from what i heard, he had many problems & he was severely depressed. once you're depressed, you make irrational decisions like suicide. it is a disease that's very hard to overcome. you feel like nothing's worth it and that there's no way out. so let him rest in peace.
i just wish he could've realized that he's a very big icon in Japan and that he could've made a life there.

Do you suppose he is still on the line?

A little perspective for you. Most Americans don't have a lot of sympathy for people who kill themselves, even celebrities. Most of our celebrities tend to do it by drug overdose, which is really the cowards way out because if they fail they can claim it was unintentional.
BTW, I heard a funny exchange on a This Week In Science (TWIS) podcast a couple of weeks ago. TWIS is a radio program where young science geeks report on science stories they found interesting that week. One guy reported on a story that a study found a relationship between suicides and lower IQ. They collected the data by looking at the IQ records of people recovering in hospitals from suicide related injuries. But one scientist on the radio program pointed out that, all the study showed was that failed suicides are related to lower IQs. They went on to crack on the observation that people of lower intelligence often don't do suicide right, during the rest of the program.
So, the good news for Mr. Park, as fas as science is concerned, is that his suicide success says nothing to demean his intelligence.

Park Yong Ha deserves a little respect. His family was still mouring about his sudden demise. You guys don't even know the real reason behind why he decided to end his life in an instant. We'll some of us are too strong to face life heartaches and trials but some of us cannot face the reality as well. I certainly hope and pray that his soul may rest in peace. Even you don't give a damn on his death then just shut up!

PEOPLE LIKE YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED IN HIS PLACE!!!!! IS THIS FUNNY TO YOU AS WELL?????????? WOULD YOU BE LAUGHING IF THAT WIRE WAS AROUND SOMEONE YOU LOVE??? IM SURE THERE IS NO ONE AROUND YOU KIND OF PEOPLE AS YOU MISS SINCERETY FROM YOUR DNA!!!!!

don't judge people..because of suicide we do know what is reality happen……. let him rest in peace……………
4:26 pm on December 9th, 2010 30
Why? You don't. Everyone judges the people they meet or hear about. I judge that any young healthy person that kills themselves is an Idiot and a Fool. With little imagination or intelligence. Also a very Selfish Person. He got all of his "followers" to waste their time defending his horroble actions, when there is no defence.
He thought himself a failure and then proved he was a failure. Now he is dead and look at you Mellisa. This was reported here in June. SIX MONTHS later and you have nothing better to do with YOUR life than post your sadness here. That is sad….for YOU.
If he cared about you or any of his "followers" he would still be here. He didn't care…about anything. Not you. Nor the other fans. Not even his friends and family. He did not care even about himself.
Look at #28 above you. Justice does not understand EITHER. This guy did not die, as Justice seems to think. HE KILLED HIMSELF!
You "fans" would be Funny, if you were not such pitifull sick puppies.

They can't bring their idol back to life so they bring the thread back to life. Well that's constructive.
@28 – Yes, it probably was funny to them as well. Very astute observation.
