Korean Woman Killing Cat Draws Netizen’s Ire

Via a reader tip comes what is supposedly the big story this week with Korean netizens who are upset about this woman killing a cat:

The CCTV footage features an unidentified woman in her 20s kicking and stepping on the cat in a hallway of an officetel in southern Seoul on June 15, eventually throwing her out of a 10th-floor window and killing her.

The cat, named “Eunbi” was caught while sneaking out while her owner was asleep, according to news reports.

Along with an animal protection organization, the cat owner has reportedly filed a complaint with the police against the woman depicted in the video on charges of mistreating an animal.  [Korea Herald]

You can read more and see the video at the link.  You might want to zoom ahead to about 6:00 into the video because not much is going on for most of that video clip.  Also if you are wondering the woman claims she was drunk at the time that she killed the cat and has no memory of what happened.

So the Americans are up in arms over the killing of this cat by an unidentified Korean woman. Because such scenes of violence never happens in financially and morally bankrupt America. Some sick Americans are even making sexual comments about the woman. I really have to wonder what's in their heads, other then sex.

Yet another good reason to hit a woman. Don’t start with the “lady” thing—she isn’t one.

If I remember correctly it was posted online by the animal rights group that is charging her. Last time they were able to get a particularly stiff fine (5 million won, pretty tiny but large by Korean standards) for a guy that killed a number of dogs due to the PR campaign they ran.

Look, the picture says a 1,000 words. The beer can lying under the dead cat tells the whole story. The cat got drunk and fell off the balcony, it happens all the time.

On another note a country western singer once sang a song about the drunk girl in the video. Its titled “lets get drunk and kill a cat”

It's my understanding that "I was drunk and don't remember" is a legitimate legal defense here and she's likely to win if taken to court, and therefore won't be taken to court, since the prosecution only pursues cases that they are pretty sure they will win.

wow, how did that happen? is that cat so docile that its animal instincts didnt react and scratch the attacker? i'm not condoning what she did at all. but am very surprised she managed to attack because i was walking my puppy on a leash down some stairs, when a female cat at the bottom of the stairs started hissing and started approaching whilst staring at my puppy. i grabbed my puppy off the ground and guess what? the cat dug it's 4 paws (and claws naturally) right into my lower leg. i didn't kick it, but shook it off. a neighbour started shooing her away. next thing i knew, i had streams of blood down my leg and not surprisingly, scarred till today(that was in 1998). so for an unprovoked cat to attack for whatever reason just seeing a quiet little puppy, you can see how unbelievable it is to me that that cat did not react to that crazy woman's kicking! :?:

"that evil bitch needs to be publicly raped and dragged to death tied behind a car."

I can't say about this particular poster… but has anyone noticed that the people most against the death penalty and generally "soft on crime" are quick to wish the most terrible things on people who are cruel to animals, wear leather jackets, or eat meat?

This is yet another reason why liberals can't be taken seriously.

On the other hand, I recently spent some time with some very liberal people who made fun of conservatives. The problem was… they are smart people and they believe what they do for good reasons… and they spoke some truth and made fun of "conservatives" in such a way that I was like… hmmm… y'all almost got me, here.

I'm going to write about this when I figure it all out.

    Retired GI,

    I understand.

One problem is that current conservative "leadership" and spokespeople are just as whacked out as their counterparts on the left… and too many of their followers have somehow abandoned the cornerstones of true conservatism while dogmatically supporting more questionable values of their ideology.

Reasonable ideas and common sense on both sides are so lacking that the labels of liberal and conservative mean very little.

None-the-less, this all came up because of Ronald Regan… the great conservative icon. How can you not like the guy?

…until it is pointed out that he raised lots of taxes, bloated the national debt, increased the size of the federal government, gave amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, and signed serious gun control legislation.

These are not MY conservative values… and these acts should be condemned by true conservatives… but they aren't.

Somehow the conservative movement has lost its way… putting myth over truth and dogma over reason.

Many liberals have an obvious disconnect between their idealistic wishful thinking and reality. This amuses and angers conservatives.

What my eyes have been opened to is that more conservatives than I thought possible have a similar disconnect on many levels… which smart liberals recognize.

Within a few months, I will write more on this.

The reality is that there are different solutions to different problems… and there is a conservative-leaning middle path that relies on reason over emotion, practicality over idealism, and the fundamental concept of leaving people alone as much as possible.

Still better, MUCH better than what we have now.

The left only wishes the two sides were more alike. It's called "damage control".

I'll take "reason" over liberal "emotion" each and every day.

I'd really like to see Trump run in 2012. Good speech at CPAC. But he wouldn't, I'm sure. Lose too much money as President. I loved what he said about Ron Paul. "can't win" "Doesn't have a chance." To much booing. Too funny. He didn't care. I loved it.

Retired GI: I work in a place where we can give you medicine for twitching ;-) The coin is the issue (whatever that may be). The two sides of the coin are diametrically opposed viewpoints. It's physically impossible for the "heads" of a coin to see what the "tails" of the coin even looks like. That's what we have going in this country.

This country was founded and prospered within the concept of opposing viewpoints finding common ground. Opposing viewpoints are now considered just wrong, by one side or the other, and not worthy of discussion. Therefore they just keep disagreeing while everything just keeps getting worse. Problems are solved in the middle, not on the ends. If one side shoves something down the other's throat, well, there's still a problem.

I just noticed the cats face is obscured. Is that to prvent us from identifying said kitty? So kitty's fellow cats and family members won't reconize him, causing further grief? Kora seems to go a little overboard on the pixelation. Some TV shows are just an entire pixelated mess after the obscure faces, bottles, knoves, wounds, logos, addresses etc etc. They might as well be radio programs.

  • ChickenHead
    5:37 am on February 18th, 2011 36

Of course they blurred the face, Leon.

They do it in most Asian p0rn… especially kitty p0rn.

Wait… I think I already pointed that out. Yep… way back there in post #11.

The nice thing about a high-def TV is that the borders on the pixelation is much sharper, though.

    Retired GI,

The reason Ronald Regan was successful is because he seemed to truly love and care about America and it's success… he backed our allies, smote our enemies, rebuilt American pride, and took nothing personally. He was very presidential… mostly because he surrounded himself with capable and experienced people and delegated tasks to them as a manager.

This is in stark contrast with Obama who seem more closely aligned with the angry, America-hating segment of the population (won't wear a flag pin, won't put his hand over his heart for the Pledge, etc.)… has embarrassed traditional allies from England to Israel… has prostrated himself (ergo, his nation) to every Islamic dictator… and has very un-presidentially whined publicly about offensive statement made about him from semi-blowhards like Rush. Further, Obama has surrounded himself with academic ideologues, angry agenda-driven activist types, and general incompetents in need of a returned favor (much like Bush II did).

Comparing Obama to Carter is unfair to Carter. The Obama administration is the Dukakis administration that never was.

"I’d really like to see Trump run in 2012."

You know how Trump made his money? He inherited it. Other than that, everyone who has gotten involved with the shyster has lost money in a stream of fail projects with the Trump name attached. The guy is an absolute shytbag… but he sure is resilient.

OK. Enough of this. I have unwittingly hijacked a dead cat topic into a liberal/conservative and then Regan/Obama and then Donald Trump political rant.

    Tacky.
