The above picture shows how the soldiers of Taskforce Smith spent their Independence Day weekend in July 1950 during the Korean War. The soldiers pictured above are exiting a train at the Daejon Train Station. They would then proceed to move north to occupy positions near Osan where they became the first American unit to engage the North Koreans on July 5, 2010.
