North Korean soldiers stationed at the border truce village of Panmunjom have changed their headgear again. On Thursday, a day ahead of planned military talks about the sinking of the South Korean Navy corvette Cheonan between the UN Command and the North, they were seen wearing camouflage helmets (right). They have worn them for 10 days, a South Korean military spokesman said. In late May the guards switched from their usual army caps (left) to steel helmets (center).

They're trying to look more like torpedoes.

Maybe the US Army can give them their ridiculous black berets for the next uniform change.

The cammo helmet clashes with the rest of the uniform. Besides, if they want to blend in with the terrain, they should consider ditching the red and gold badges instead.

How baggy the uniform looks, particularly in the photograph on the right hand side. I know they're cut baggy, I've seen that before, but this guy looks like an extreme case. I wonder about his rations.
The arrangement of the collar badges and the belt gives the helmeted soldier a most Wehrmacht-like appearance.

I'm standing by my assertion that they're impersonating torpedoes.

#3,
Ironically, North Korean propaganda portrays American soldiers as being gaunt to symbolize their supposed ideological and racial inferiority.
