Rest in peace to yet another notable Korean War veteran that has passed away:
Curley B. Knepp, a Korean War veteran and career soldier who was prominent in the local veterans community and official functions, died of complications from pneumonia on Thursday at a South Korean hospital, the Veterans of Foreign Wars said Friday. He was 76.Knepp was featured in a June 21 article in Stars and Stripes about Korean War veterans who settled in South Korea after the war.
Rising from buck private in 1951 and retiring as a major in 1977, he routinely was accorded a place of honor at various official functions, including Korean War memorial observances.
Keith Michael, adjutant of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10216 in Pyeongtaek, said the VFW post plans to honor Knepp with a “draping of the charter” ceremony in which the post’s charter will be draped in black for 30 days.
Knepp is survived by his wife, Mag-nae Knepp, and three daughters from a previous marriage. No details on funeral arrangements were immediately available. [Stars & Stripes]

Rest in Peace Daddy. We miss you very much and you were taken too soon. I have received so many kind, thoughtful remembrances of you from your family here in the states who were all so proud of you. And from friends of yours whom I contacted. If anyone sees this it would be an honour for memorial contributions to be made to the following: http://www.koreanwar-educator.org. Or a Veterans organization of your choice. This is an excellent web site and keeps history alive. We should never forget our Veterans, those that came before and those that will become. God Bless. Michele Knepp, eldest daughter of Curley Knepp

I served with Curley in the 122d Signal Battalion, 2d Infantry in 1967 – 1968. He was a good friend, a true professional and one of the best officers with whom I have ever served. He'll be missed by his friends and family. God bless, Curley.
