Family Criticizes Busan Police For Handling of Teen Rape Case

Here is yet another minor in Korea being attacked by a rapist, fortunately this time the rapist was repelled:

A father in Busan sustained serious injuries preventing the rape of his 15-year-old daughter on July 31, in a story that has become a sensation with netizens.

The attacker was arrested by police on the spot shortly after the attack took place.

The incident belatedly spread among Internet users amid claims that police tried to downplay the attempted rape to a simple assault.

The incident became known to the public after the victim’s elder sister wrote the details of the incident on a portal, charging the police with negligence.

According to news reports, the offender, identified only by his surname Kim, broke into the house looking for the victim’s aunt, whom he had been in a relationship with.

In the house, Kim tied up the victim and her mother with tape, demanding to know the whereabouts of the aunt. The man tried to rape the girl after violently attacking her and her mother.

The girl’s father tried to prevent the rape, but Kim attacked him with an axe, leaving his scull and nose fractured, and some of his ribs broken, according to a statement from her elder sister, who was also at the scene.

The elder sister blasted the police, claiming they were dragging their feet in the case.  [Korea Herald]

Read the rest of the link to read about the family’s criticisms of the Busan police.  Considering how often policemen can be seen sleeping in their cars in Korea, the criticisms from the family seem quite believable.

So uh, I didn't see the part where they mentioned the involvement a foreign assailant. I'm confused. A Korean could never do this to another Korean! Just like the north Koreans would never hard a hair on the head on one of their Southern brethren. Ohhh, perhaps the police were foreigners? Somehow I'm sure this attack was spurred on by bankrupt American policies and trailer trash Canadian Engrish teachers. TOM! Help me find the connection. :|

I aways knew that little general was evil! I hope they catch him, bring him back on active duty, and courts-martial him!
