By Another month and and more court martial results from the USFK website. Really not a whole lot of court martial results due probably to the annual US-ROK exercise that occurs in August. There was however, plenty of action in the ROK criminal courts and notice how many of the incidents are traffic related:
Court-Martial Results for August 2010
At a special court-martial on 3 August 2010, Staff Sergeant Donnez R. Johnson, 51st Civil Engineer Squadron, Pacific Air Forces, Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, was convicted of simple assault. He was sentenced to reduction to Senior Airman (E-4), hard labor without confinement for 30 days, and restriction to the limits of Osan Air Base for 30 days.
Results of ROK Criminal Prosecutions for August 2010
In Suwon District Court on 30 July 2010, PFC Craig S. Nichols, 568th Medical Company, was convicted of DUI and use of marihuana. His adjudged sentence was a total of 3,000,000 Won fine (1,000,000 Won for DUI and 2,000,000 Won for marihuana).
In Uijeongbu District Court on 3 August 2010, PVT Arson R. Jim, B Co, 302d BSB, was convicted of assault and destruction of property. His adjudged sentence was a 3,000,000 Won fine.
In Seoul Central District Court on 3 August 2010, A1C James L. Raybon, 5th RS, was convicted of assault. His adjudged sentence was a 1,000,000 Won fine.
In Seoul Central District Court on 3 August 2010, SrA Gerett L. Patton, 5th RS, was convicted of assault. His adjudged sentence was a 1,000,000 Won fine.
In Seoul Central District Court on 3 August 2010, A1C Thomas E. White, 5th RS, was convicted of assault. His adjudged sentence was a 1,000,000 Won fine.
In Daegu District Court on 4 August 2010, PVT Sidney D. Taylor, 348th QM Co, was convicted of intrusion upon a habitation. His adjudged sentence was a 2,000,000 Won fine.
In Seoul Central District Court on 12 August 2010, PFC Gerald A. Fountain, B Co, 4/7th Cavalry, was convicted of obstruction of performance of official duties, infliction of bodily injury, assault, and destruction of property. His adjudged sentence was a 3,000,000 Won fine.
In Daegu District Court on 12 August 2010, SPC Neil S. Soliman, E Btry, 2-1st ADA, was convicted of a violation of the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Crimes (hit and run). His adjudged sentence was imprisonment for 8 months, suspended for 2 years.
In Uijeongbu District Court on 18 August 2010, SGT Billy W. Kirkland, HHC, 1/72d Armor, was convicted of infliction of bodily injury. His adjudged sentence was a 1,500,000 Won fine.
In Seoul Central District Court on 23 August 2010, SGM Edward J. Williams, HHD, 41st Signal Bn, was convicted of traffic law violations. His adjudged sentence was a 2,000,000 Won fine.
In Suwon District Court on 27 August 2010, 2LT Sung H. Kim, HHC, 2d Cavalry, was convicted of DUI. His adjudged sentence was a 1,500,000 Won fine.
In Uijeongbu District Court on 30 August 2010, 2LT Zackary M. Clark, B Co, 70th BSB, 210th Fires Brigade, was convicted of traffic law violations. His adjudged sentence was a 500,000 Won fine.

It's sad that's all you have to post. Tom makes good points every once in a while. In this case, noting the ranks of those convicted, I would be surprised if they were anything less than driving drunk. I’m sure there are rare examples of exceptions, but in my Korean book of knowledge, senior leader + traffic law violation = D.U.I.
