"So what do people think of prison beauty contests?"

What title did she win? Miss Demeanor?

I bet her cellmate felon love with her.

Lookin' like that, somebody would slammer.

Q: What's the difference between the prison warden and the prison beauty queen?

A: 30 days for the warden, 7 minutes for the beauty queen.

    Get it?

    No?

That's how long you stay in the hole.

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez: "The Vietnamese" are Trying to Take My Seat

    http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20017604-5

California Democratic Rep. Loretta Sanchez has come under fire for recent comments she made stating that "the Vietnamese" were trying to steal her congressional seat.

"The Vietnamese and the Republicans are, with an intensity, trying to take this seat from which we have done so much for our community — to take this seat and give it to this Van Tran, who is very anti-immigrant and very anti-Hispanic," Sanchez said during a recent Spanish-language interview with Univision, according to the Orange County Register.

Tran, a Republican state assemblyman and Sanchez's challenger for the seat, is a Vietnamese-American whose family immigrated to the United States in 1975 amid political turmoil in Vietnam, according to his website.

Tran's campaign promptly responded to Sanchez's comments, saying "the attack against immigrants and the Vietnamese community on national television is shocking. The 47th congressional district belongs to the people and not an individual ethnicity."

What do you guys think of the army buying 10,000 copies of a book only to destroy them?

It said that the book, Operation Dark Heart by Lt Col Anthony Shaffer, threatened to divulge state secrets.

Lt Col Shaffer, a bronze star recipient, said he had no intention of jeopardising American lives or damaging national security.

If he sold all 10,000 copies that quick, I would assume his publisher would want to print some more right away. Just think, if the Army keeps buying them, he could end up on the NYT Bestseller list! In other words, I do not think the US Army thought their brilliant plan all the way through.

The US Military (not Army) bought the first printing since the good LTC did not properly vett the book. I don't doubt he meant well but he got it approved by big Army without asking DIA. This is a big no-no and the LTC is lucky that his book was not confiscated. Some of the methods he described are still used to today and can be used by a foreign intelligence service against us. I was told the second edition will not contain the parts that were a big issue.

For a good example of how this works, the Colombians just killed Mono Joyjoy the military commander for FARC. They placed a GPS tracker in a set of boots he had made and tracked him to his jungle base. Since they have told the world how they did this they will never get away with it again and Narco-terrorists will be able to avoid traps more easily. If they supressed the method the press would scream "cover-up" but they could probably bag a couple more thugs.

In all honesty the public does not have a right to know everything and simple things do matter.

He's a Super Bowl MVP for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but on Tuesday night, wide receiver Hines Ward became part of a new team.

Ward was sworn in at the nation's capitol as a member of President Barack Obama's advisory commission on Asian-Americans and Pacific islanders.

    Mohamud!

How can you say anything bad about Bobbi Ann Finley?

Not only is she stunningly beautiful and has the body of a goddess…

…but, like all smart men well know, the best women are always found in bars… especially ones near military bases.

Bless her heart. I hope this misunderstanding is resolved quickly so she can get on with her life.

Good one Chickenhead.I cant say I feel sorry for some of those GI's. They should have known better than to fall for her story of being the daughter of a general expecting a 750,000 dollar inheritance.

She has no soul and is good at conning people. I hope she gets the max. I just dont know what they saw in her to be fooled into getting married in two weeks after meeting her.

    #5,

There's something wrong with the CIA if they can't come up with good idea, with or without the publication of the book.

    #9,

The funny thing is she probably got dozens of marriage proposals after that story broke.

"What do you guys think of the army buying 10,000 copies of a book only to destroy them?"

I think the military wasted a quarter of a million dollars… as I'll be able to locate and post the retracted parts missing from the 2nd edition whenever I set my mind to it.

Buying and burning is a laughably-wrong way to fight an information war in the digital age.

I just saw her pictures. You have got to be kidding me. I can understand, maybe a pickup after last call for alcohol, but to be cold sober later and still decide to hitch up?

To be fair, she would look perfectly in place in the commissary aisles, glaring at the foreign spouses.

The one guy, said he was a "rescuer." I understand the wanna'be military hero complex, but hey! Next time, go rescue a stray from the animal shelter. It's cheaper.

The military ought to offer special classes in basic training for these kids they pick up off the turnip trucks.

There. Did I get enough clichés in there?

#8, #14 I certainly hope M(r)s. Bobbi Ann Finley is protected by, and taking full advantage of, the Uniformed Services Former Spouses Protection Act (USFSPA). My goodness this delicate flower has been victimized by at least 11 despicable GI's. I hope she can get over all the heartache. Perhaps she should hook up with a chaplain.

I don't get it either. Hell, no beer goggles would be thick enough for me to consider it.

    a. a bronze star means absolutely nothing to me and it's simply ignorance on the part of many who believe it is an award given for bravery or valor. There certainly are exceptions, but don't let the award stand on its own. e.g. bronze star "awarded" to a supply sergeant who maintained supplies in his supply room during a war.

    b. the LTC had already been kicked out of his position with DIA because of repeatedly falsifying TDY vouchers. Is more simple terms, he is a thief. As a result, DIA revoked his clearance to the Special Access Programs that accessed him, presumably, to the material in Dark Heart. He knows good and well the material in the book that is classified and what is not.

    c. Likely a GS-13 security manager at DIA failed to execute a non-disclosure agreement on the guy, but that does not constitute relief from the law.

    d. What likely happened is he submitted the book through a lax CAO (Classification Advisory Officer) at either DoD or DIA who signed off saying the book does not contain classified information. Essentially giving the guy authorization to publish the book. That document allowed the publisher to print the 10,000 copies without fear of legal repercussions. Once a competint person read the book and sounded the "isht bomb" alert. Everyone went apeisht. Now the publisher has the CAO's approval which is a legal document.

    e. Regardless, a few people who "gave up" information on people are now going to be killed. Those people gambled their lives in hopes of righting wrongs; exposing corruption, thieves, murderers and supervisee activity. Sub-factions of the intelligence community are effective when they promise secrecy or protection from retaliation (likely resulting in someone's death). That is not a game. Similar, but unfortunately is the news media people who go to great lengths to valiantly protect their source who at the most would lose their job. Those reporters who claim "freedom of speech" and "democracy" are "heroes" in the eyes of people. The case officer on the ground who's source is killed because some nosey, gossip-hungry busy body who has no idea of the harm that is caused by his curiosity.

    f. The guy just wanted to sell books, and he is P/O at his government.

    THE WAR IS ALMOST OVER!

Finally, after years of war, it is officially coming to an end this weekend.

This is certainly going to change some national finances.

Peace has never tasted so sweet.

Fire up the Victrola, I've been waiting for this day for a long time!

“Have you news of my boy Jack?”

    Not this tide.

“When d’you think that he’ll come back?”

Not with this wind blowing, and this tide.

“Has any one else had word of him?”

    Not this tide.

For what is sunk will hardly swim,

Not with this wind blowing, and this tide.

“Oh, dear, what comfort can I find?”

    None this tide,

    Nor any tide,

Except he did not shame his kind —

Not even with that wind blowing, and that tide.

Then hold your head up all the more,

    This tide,

    And every tide;

Because he was the son you bore,

And gave to that wind blowing and that tide!

hoo! That's heavy, let's lighten this party up.

    Over There

    Johnnie, get your gun,

Get your gun, get your gun,

    Take it on the run,

On the run, on the run.

Hear them calling, you and me,

    Every son of liberty.

    Hurry right away,

    No delay, go today,

    Make your daddy glad

To have had such a lad.

Tell your sweetheart not to pine,

To be proud her boy's in line.

    (chorus sung twice)

    Johnnie, get your gun,

Get your gun, get your gun,

    Johnnie show the Hun

    Who's a son of a gun.

Hoist the flag and let her fly,

    Yankee Doodle do or die.

    Pack your little kit,

Show your grit, do your bit.

    Yankee to the ranks,

From the towns and the tanks.

Make your mother proud of you,

And the old Red, White and Blue.

    (chorus sung twice)

    Chorus

    Over there, over there,

Send the word, send the word over there -

    That the Yanks are coming,

    The Yanks are coming,

    The drums rum-tumming

    Ev'rywhere.

    So prepare, say a pray'r,

Send the word, send the word to beware.

We'll be over, we're coming over,

And we won't come back till it's over

    Over there.

Two songs in one day. What are the odds?
