USFK Court Martial Results for October 2010

This month’s USFK court martial results are just more of the same, but in the ROK criminal prosecutions there was quite a bit of activity with the usual traffic related incidents and assaults being the majority of the convictions.

Court-Martial Results for October 2010

At a general court-martial on 22 September 2010, 4 October 2010, 5 October 2010, 6 October 2010, and 7 October 2010, SFC Anthony T. Gayden, HHC, 2nd Combat Aviation Bde, 2ID, APO AP 96271, was convicted of absence from unit, failure to obey an order, maltreatment, false official statement, and housebreaking.  His adjudged sentence was Reduction to Staff Sergeant (E-6).

At a general court-martial on 19 October 2010, SGT Victor M. Berlus, HHD, 168th MMB, Camp Henry, Republic of Korea, was convicted of simple assault.  His adjudged sentence was Reduction to Private (E-1); Forfeiture of $1,447.00 pay per month for 2 months; 30 days Confinement.

At a special court-martial on 13-15 October 2010, PFC Dnetric J. Williams, 46th Trans. Co., 194th CSSB, 501st Sus. Bde., Camp Casey, Republic of Korea, was convicted of wrongful use of provoking words, assault upon a commissioned officer, and communicating a threat.  His adjudged sentence was Reduction to Private (E-1); Forfeiture of $964.00 pay per month for 5 months; 5 months Confinement; and to be discharged from the service with a Bad Conduct Discharge.

At a summary court-martial on 7 October 2010, PVT Branden J. Giles, E Co., 302 BSB, 2-9 IN, 1st HBCT, 2ID, Camp Hovey, Republic of Korea, was convicted of  simple assault and assault consummated by a battery.  His adjudged sentence was 10 days Confinement.

At a summary court-martial on 15 October 2010, PV2 Stephen A. Hines, 665th Movement Control Team, 25th Transportation Battalion, Camp Henry, Republic of Korea, was convicted of larceny.  His adjudged sentence was Reduction to Private (E-1); Forfeiture of ½ pay for 1 month; 30 days Confinement.

At a summary court-martial on 21 October 2010, PV2 Darren S. Charbonnier, A Btry, 1-15 FA, 1st HBCT, 2ID, Camp Casey, Republic of Korea, was convicted of absence from unit.  His adjudged sentence was 30 days Confinement.

At a summary court-martial on 22 October 2010, AB Zackary M. Connerly, 51st Munitions Squadron, Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, was convicted of larceny and receipt of stolen property.  His adjudged sentence was Forfeiture of 2/3 pay for 1 month; 30 days Confinement.

At a summary court-martial on 22 October 2010, PVT Benjamin S. Hatfield, 551st Inland Cargo Trans.Co., 498th Command Sustainment Battalion, Camp Carroll, Republic of Korea, was convicted of simple assault, drunkenness, and disorderly conduct.  His adjudged sentence was Forfeiture of 2/3 pay for 1 month; 30 days Confinement.

Results of ROK Criminal Prosecutions for October 2010

In Suwon District Court on 30 September 2010, 2LT (named removed by request), HHD, 194th CSSB, was convicted of DUI.  His adjudged sentence was a 700,000 Won fine.

In Daegu District Court on 4 October 2010, PFC Christopher B. Buchanan, 551st ICTC, was convicted of infliction of bodily injury.  His adjudged sentence was a 700,000 Won fine.

In Suwon District Court on 6 October 2010, PVT Hector F. Barreto-Martinez, 595th Maintenance Company, was convicted of infliction of bodily injury.  His adjudged sentence was a 1,000,000 Won fine.

In Seoul Central District Court on 7 October 2010, SPC Patrick K. Chung, HHC, STB-K (duty w/G-9), was convicted of destruction of property.  His adjudged sentence was a 700,000 Won fine.

In Uijeongbu District Court on 14 October 2010, SGT Darin J. Howell, HHC, 2/9th Infantry, was convicted of infliction of bodily injury.  His adjudged sentence was a 3,000,000 Won fine.

In Seoul Central District Court on 15 October 2010, CW2 Joe Eun Kim, A Co, 2-2d Assault, was convicted of traffic law violations.  His adjudged sentence was a 1,000,000 Won fine.

In Daegu District Court on 20 October 2010, PFC Jolina N. Benton, 551st ICTC, was convicted of infliction of bodily injury.  His adjudged sentence was a 2,000,000 Won fine.

In Suwon District Court on 21 October 2010, PFC Kevin D. Brooks, Jr., HHB, 6/52d ADM, was convicted of infliction of bodily injury.  His adjudged sentence was a 500,000 Won fine.

In Uijeongbu District Court on 21 October 2010, SPC Stephen L. Wells, 61st Maintenance Company, was convicted of traffic law violations.  His adjudged sentence was a 2,000,000 Won fine.

In Seoul Central District Court on 22 October 2010, CPL Michael S. Howard, A Co, 1/72d Armor, was convicted of aggravated assault.  His adjudged sentence was a 1,500,000 Won fine.

In Seoul Central District Court on 22 October 2010, SGT Gary F. Huerta, A Co, 1/72d Armor, was convicted of aggravated assault.  His adjudged sentence was a 1,000,000 Won fine.

In Seoul Central District Court on 22 October 2010, CPL Jon A. Fanlo, UNC Honor Guard Company, was convicted of aggravated assault.  His adjudged sentence was a 1,500,000 Won fine.

In Seoul Central District Court on 22 October 2010, SSG Alden J. Cena, HHC, STB-K (duty w/ G-2), was convicted of aggravated assault.  His adjudged sentence was a 1,500,000 Won fine.

In Uijeongbu District Court on 25 October 2010, SPC Joshua M. Burkholder, B Troop, 4/7th Cavalry, was convicted of DUI.  His adjudged sentence was a 1,500,000 Won fine.

In Seoul Central District Court on 28 October 2010, PFC Joshua A. McAlexander, 135th FST, 121st CS Hospital, was convicted of aggravated assault.  His adjudged sentence was a 2,000,000 Won fine.

In Seoul Central District Court on 28 October 2010, PFC Christopher McElroy, HHB, 1/38th FA, was convicted of aggravated assault.  His adjudged sentence was a 2,000,000 Won fine.

In Uijeongbu District Court on 28 October 2010, PFC Benjamin T. Mason, D Co, 2/9th Infantry, was convicted of aggravated assault and destruction of property.  His adjudged sentence was imprisonment for 2 years, suspended for 3 years.

    Wow, is it really strange that only 1 out of 25 listed here are Air Force? Is there just something like 100 Air Force people stationed in Korea and the rest Army, Navy, Marines?

    Hey, what ever happened to the curfew debate? Why do there continue to be so many convictions?
