Is Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions holding up bill for Hotaru Ferschke?

Her mother-in-law Robin went to Capitol Hill today to lobby legislators. She wrote-

In case you’re wondering, the House bill was sponsored by a Republican, Jimmy Duncan (R-Tennessee), and co-sponsored by both Republican Lamar Smith (R-Texas) and Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), heads of the immigration committee, so it was bi-partisan, and passed the House unanimously. Why is Sessions blocking?

What possible reason does Sessions have for blocking the bill. Is he a anti-illegal zealot who can differentiate between legals and illegals? I’ve encountered enough who fit that description. Glenn Beck, A Georgia Congressman Phil Gingrey, not to mention some blog commenters. Hatred can warp people’s minds.

I’m going to call his office and ask to speak to his press representative on Monday. It’s Thanksgiving week, so people may be hard to find. Robin Ferschke plans to picket one of Sessions offices. Here’s his DC Phone number. If you want to call one of his Alabama offices, go here to get the numbers.

Can anyone post this on the "Help Hotaru Ferschke" Facebook group? I'd do it myself but my computer is down and I can't link or copy well with my cell phone! It might help…

Maybe Sessions thinks Marine Sgt Ferschke was a "disgrace to his race" for marrying Hotaru.

The guy's got a winning set of attitudes:

Hebert testified that the young lawyer tended to “pop off” on such topics regularly, noting that Sessions had called a white civil rights lawyer a “disgrace to his race” for litigating voting rights cases. Sessions acknowledged making many of the statements attributed to him but claimed that most of the time he had been joking, saying he was sometimes “loose with [his] tongue.” He further admitted to calling the Voting Rights Act of 1965 a “piece of intrusive legislation,” a phrase he stood behind even in his confirmation hearings.

It got worse. Another damaging witness–a black former assistant U.S. Attorney in Alabama named Thomas Figures–testified that, during a 1981 murder investigation involving the Ku Klux Klan, Sessions was heard by several colleagues commenting that he “used to think they [the Klan] were OK” until he found out some of them were “pot smokers.” Sessions claimed the comment was clearly said in jest. Figures didn’t see it that way. Sessions, he said, had called him “boy” and, after overhearing him chastise a secretary, warned him to “be careful what you say to white folks.” Figures echoed Hebert’s claims, saying he too had heard Sessions call various civil rights organizations, including the National Council of Churches and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, “un-American.” Sessions denied the accusations but again admitted to frequently joking in an off-color sort of way. In his defense, he said he was not a racist, pointing out that his children went to integrated schools and that he had shared a hotel room with a black attorney several times.

I'm absolutely appalled at this whole situation. The US Marine DIED in service to our country. If there is any question (I don't see why there would be any question) then do a DNA test on the child. I am totally opposed to amnesty for illegal aliens but this woman & child are the dependents of an American, a US Marine who DIED in the service of our country. WTF is going on? My God, this woman has lost her husband! Quit the BS & make this woman & her child American citizens. This whole f'ing situation makes me want to puke. This whole thing makes me so mad that I can't express my rage in words. No one to my knowledge has claimed that this is some scam to give citizenship to someone who is not deserving. This US Marine DIED for our NATION. I better quit before I type something that will be deleted.

What is needed is for everyone that is reading this posts to forward them to every Marine and Service Men and Women so that they can go and picket Sessions office. If he's true to his cowardly self. – YES COWARDLY!!! – he'll probably go hide somewhere rather than face the mother of one of our HEROES. We need to picket ALL of his offices and flood them ALL with phone calls and faxes. This poor excuse for a human being needs to see what REAL CARING PEOPLE can and will do.

NOW IS TIME FOR ACTION !!!!!!!!!
