Anti-North Korean Regime Leaflets Sent Across the DMZ

One of my favorite North Korean activist groups are still pissing off North Korea:

North Korea lashed out Friday at South Korea for allowing anti-Pyongyang propaganda leaflets to be sent across their border, as activists vowed to send more from a South Korean island devastated by North Korean shelling last month.

The leaflets, often mixed with U.S. dollar bills, DVDs and radios, are sent in giant balloons across the 4-kilometer-wide Demilitarized Zone between the Koreas. [Yonhap]

Can you imagine what an organized and sustained propaganda effort against the North Korean regime would do to undermine it in the eyes of its own people?

I wonder what the SK will do if the NK carry out their threats to shell the balloon launching sites. It's looking more & more likely that the NK regime is inching closer to collapse. The Red Chinese don't want a free Korea on their border but they may not have a choice. We really need to have a concerted effort to expand this, this evil communist regime needs to fall.

The North Korean government did a pretty good job of undermining itself to its citizens with its currency policy, but, yeah. Just imagine what would happen if we nudged them a little. Kim Jong-il and company would be found dead in a ditch behind their homes like Ceauşescu.

NK can launch balloons with the prices of housing, electricity and medicine.

This is one of the best anti-Pyongyang propaganda if not the most cost effective. Too bad they can't launch farther up wind from DPRK, I don't think China would take to kindly on them launch from the Chinese side of the Yalu River.

I hear NK's housing is not worth anything. Electricity isn't on 24/7. AND I hear medicine in NK isn't that great either.

BTW, I hear Korean dramas and American movies are popular among folks in NK, via smuggled in dvd players and dvds from china. Well, china is useful for something.

Is there any way people can donate money to provide for future balloon launches?

Probably not, unless you are unconcerned that your donation won't be just pocketed. These groups are unsanctioned and unregulated. Donate at your own risk.

"NK can launch balloons with the prices of housing, electricity and medicine."

    1. We have free sometimes available electricity as long as you live in pyongyang.

    2. Housing is free and in some cases fit for human habitation.

    3. Medicine is free, and by medecine we mean herbs to eat and alcohol to drink that eases the pain during unseterilized surgical procedures.

Yeah, those will be some very effective ballons to entice people to the DPRK.

They should write on the side of those balloons, "In South Korea, these are condoms". Then again, that might just piss them off.

Mr. Smith Kole, I recently made $75 billion investing in dryer lint futures and am looking to invest in similar ventures. Yours sounds like something that falls into that category. Please contact my chief fiscal manager, Tom Langley, at this website for details on the immediate transfer of funds. Are you sure that only $10 million be enough?

Smith Kole sounds like an A-hole. ;-)

I wonder what country 234 is. But back on topic, I wish the leafletters well. I hope North Koreans benefit from their efforts.
