This really isn’t big news considering carriers have long participated in exercises with South Korea long before the recent provocations with North Korea. What would be news is if this aircraft carrier participates in the exercise by traveling into the Yellow Sea again:
A U.S. aircraft carrier will participate in the annual Key Resolve/Foal Eagle exercise that begins later this month, according to Korean media reports.
U.S. Forces Korea announced Tuesday that the exercise will kick off Feb. 28.
Nearly 13,000 U.S. troops and more than 200,000 South Korean troops will participate in the drills, the first regularly scheduled exercise since North Korea bombarded a South Korean island in November, according to South Korean and U.S. defense officials. [Stars & Stripes]

Piece of junk.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that it will be the USS George Washington. Their assigned to patrol this part of the world so they usually participate in these sort of things.

A subtle typo this time: GI Korea's headline suggests that the navy has a ship called the Aircraft Carrier. Not a whole category, but one specific vessel with that name.
He also left the final D off "scheduled".
Don't get me wrong. I admire GI Korea, and I learn a lot from this blog. But I get a kick out of his typos.

Tom: We like the Enterprise, we really do!
[pauses]
Tom: That sagging old rust-bucket is designed like a *garbage scow*. Half the Pacific knows it – that's why they're learning to speak Chinese!
Capt. Honors (wearing his SWOveralls): [after Tom calls the Enterprise a garbage scow] Laddy, don't you think you should rephrase that?
Tom: [With Scottish accent] You're right. I should.
[Drops accent]
Tom: I didn't mean to say that the Enterprise should be *hauling* garbage. I meant to say that it should be hauled away *as* garbage!
[Capt. Honors stands up slowly, decks Tom, then all hell breaks loose]
[Meanwhile, taking advantage of the ruckus, ChickenHead steps behind the bar and pours himself a couple drinks]
/GEEK BONUS: I heard a flag officer refer to the Kobayashi Maru in a briefing today.
