Will Korean Jindo Dog Cost Dr. Phil Big Money?

Add this to the ever growing list of outrageous lawsuits in America that shows no signs of stopping:

It’s bad enough to be sued, but to be sued over a dog bite? Janet Harris alleges she got an infectious disease after Dr. Phil’s dog allegedly bit her. Harris is a skin-care specialist who has been a frequent guest on his show and, according to her lawsuit, was close friends with Dr. Phil’s wife, Robin McGraw.

Harris is claiming that after Dr. Phil’s Korean Jindo, Maggie, bit her, instead of taking Harris to a hospital, to avoid publicity, he procured antibiotics via a friend who was a nurse. Harris is alleging that the improper treatment led to her infection and caused tremors in her right hand, and permanent hearing loss. Dr. Phil’s attorneys are asking the lawsuit be dismissed because Harris had signed an arbitration agreement and she has no case.  [The Daily Beast]

I hope the judge asks this woman if she was so concerned about the dog bite why didn’t she take herself to the hospital?  It wasn’t like Dr. Phil was preventing her from going.  Also how does a dog bit cause tremors and hearing loss?  Especially from a dog that I would be surprised if it didn’t have all its shots and was well cared for.  At least from this information presented it is sounding like somebody trying to get their payday via the American legal system.

Jindo dogs are savage and stupid by nature and most should be put down. They were bred to be mean to other people and Koreans try to pass this off as "the dog is very loyal."

Yes, it was Korea's fault for this dog bite. It was all dirty rotten Korean's fault.

You should never try to pet a strange dog (female?) from Korea.

    Wow..

You should never try to pet a strange dog from Korea?

    한국에서 온 이상한 개(여성)을… – Wow… that's actually three times

worse if you put it in a Korean cultural context compared to just a joke in English. Kind of like trying to play a prank on someone with an air soft rifle (English context) and shooting a .50 cal round into their gut.

Unintentional massive damage…. Or Retired GI is REALLY good….

"I hope the judge asks this woman if she was so concerned about the dog bite why didn’t she take herself to the hospital? "

…and Bingo was it's name-o. But since he's a "doctor", he's royally screwed if the story is true.

"Also how does a dog bit cause tremors and hearing loss? Especially from a dog that I would be surprised if it didn’t have all its shots and was well cared for. "

Shots have nothing to do with it. Why do you think dogs (and some people) have terribly bad breathe? Bacteria, some of which are nasty enough that a person can die from an infection after having been bitten.

    Korean dogs are kinda shady.

But this is one lucky lady.

She got a bit of a fright

    and a nasty dog bite.

But a dingo would have eaten her baby.

I looked up Korean Jindo on wiki because a friend got one. Very intelligent but requires much attention from owner/master as they are pretty energetic. Kinda neat that Dr. Phil has one.

 With friends like that who needs enemies. Sad to hear these types of lawsuits. This is why rates are so high.
