Via a reader tip comes this news that the balloon launch activists that were the subject of assaults by leftist thugs are now moving towards conducting covert launches now:
A South Korean activist group Thursday launched 200,000 anti-regime pamphlets into North Korea, despite opposition from both sides of the border, its leader said.
Park Sang-hak, head of Fighters for a Free North Korea, said his group launched ten giant helium balloons carrying the leaflets from Gimpo, just south of the border.
Park, a North Korean defector, said he selected Gimpo over more popular sites to avoid confrontation with civic groups that complain the launches exacerbate inter-Korean tensions.
“We successfully sent the balloons early this morning containing leaflets, USB drives and 1,000 U.S. one-dollar bills,” he said. Information on the popular uprisings in the Middle East was included. [Korea Times]

Civic groups? That's a nice way to put it.

Teadrinker #!. If any nazi apologist read this blog I suppose they could call the vichy french during WW2 "Civic groups." The inability of some people meaning these South Korean veterans groups to call treason "treason" just absolutely astounds me. When I was in Korea in '79-'80 there were still a lot of elderly people who had lived through the Korean war & were very appreciative of what the US, Canada, & the other allied military forces did for the Republic of Korea. Unfortunately those times have passed & we seem to have now many millions of Koreans who are ignorant of their history, some to such a degree that they look with favor to a hereditary megalomaniac incompetent communist dictatorship. With the Cheonan sinking & the artillery shelling of the SK island hopefully a realistic assessment of the NK threat has returned. If the SK can resist NK threats & blackmail and show some backbone then maybe the NK regimes days are numbered.

They should choose one day and launch millions of these things from many different locations.
