This is an interesting story to see that General Petraeus is reportedly being considered as the director of the CIA:
The Obama administration is considering Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, as the next possible CIA director, an administration official confirms to CNN. The official would not be identified because no announcements have been made about upcoming personnel decisions.
The move would be just one of a complex shuffle set to take place through the rest of the year as key members of the president’s national security team are set to depart, including Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who has long wanted to retired, and Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, whose term is set to end this year.
CIA Director Leon Panetta is one of the people high on the list to replace Gates as defense chief, the official said. [CNN]

Probably won't happen. He'd actually make the CIA useful and Obama's handlers wouldn't like that…

The appointment of someone as high profile as General Petraeus to be the head of the CIA would be an interesting choice since someone with his high profile would overshadow the DNI. The White House would probably end up sidelining the DNI to go straight to the D/CIA.
