Two Soldiers from the Korean War are being posthumously being recognized with the Medal of Honor:
Two soldiers who gave their lives fighting in the Korean War will be posthumously given the nation’s highest military honor by President Barack Obama during a ceremony next month, the White House said Wednesday evening.
Pfc. Anthony Kaho’ohanohano and Pfc. Henry Svehla will be recognized with the Medal of Honor for braving certain death and painful wounds to charge and repel overwhelming enemy forces during the war.
Family members of both soldiers will attend the May 2 ceremony at the White House to commemorate their “selfless service and sacrifice,” according to a presidential news release. [Stars & Stripes]
You can read about their combat actions at the link, but truly both are another example of American military heroes.
If you are wondering though both these Soldiers were recognized with the Distinguished Service Cross, which is the nation’s 2nd highest award for valor during the Korean War. The Medal of Honor recognition was an upgrade to that award after many years of petitioning by their respective families.
Anyway here is an example of one petition for the Medal of Honor that I hope does not happen if this guy is as phony as he appears to be.

So soon after highlighting a report on the higher quality of troops in the military demonstrated by 99% of them being high school graduates, you cause us to read Jasper Lake's petition?!
Ouch! That was painful.

JoeC, as you may have missed on the link about Sergeant Talking Bull, there is much doubt about where and even if he ever served.

President Obama has presented these Medals of Honor.
He went to high school with a cousin of Tony Kaho’ohanohano.
